Welcome to the Flames of War UK GT 2017, a Late War Flames of
War open event. This will be a five game competition over the
weekend of October 28th and 29th. The format will be swiss and
open book. Everyone will play missions using the battleplan system,
and the players with the highest score at the end of each round will
play the next highest player, regardless of faction or nation. The
winner of the weekend will be crowned the winner of the Flames of
War UK Grand Tournament, surely the finest general to have graced
this fair and green land.
Tournament System
The event will use the rules from the 4th Edition of Flames of War
1939-41 and 1944-45 rulebook along with the Special Rules and
Warriors, 1939-41 and 1944-45. We will also use the most current
version of Lessons from the Front V4 for EW and LW.
The Tables
Most of the scenery and all the tables will be provided by the event
organisers, the scenery will be pre-set for the table and we will
endeavour to make sure you only play on each table once. We will
provide rulings for the terrain on each table if you are unable to
agree with your opponent, we suggest checking the V4 rulebook as
most terrain types are detailed. We actively encourage players who
wish to bring their own terrain, though we do ask that
you contact us before hand and that you bring a
themed table and not just random terrain.

Missing Opponent
If your opponent does not turn up on time they will be given a 30-
minute grace period, after that (without serious mitigation) you will
be awarded a maximum win.
Referees
There will be two umpires at this event, we would ask that if you
have a disagreement you come to an agreement between you, if an
umpire is called to adjudicate, their decision, right or wrong is final.
The umpires are Alex Billing and Tommy Brown. Do not ask for
another player’s interpretation and unsolicited umpiring will be
strongly frowned upon.
Game Duration
Each game lasts two and a half hours; we will give out frequent
timings and when final time is called you will have a chance to even
up turns.
Playing to finish
We expect everyone to play as fast as possible, deliberately playing
slowly will result in a warning. A second infraction will result in
penalty points being applied.

Gaming Etiquette
All players must provide a copy of their army list to each of their
opponents before play and to clearly indicate which platoons if any
are in reserve and which platoons have been designated for the
ambush. Teams from different units and formations must be clearly
marked to avoid your opponent’s confusion when intermingled. We
also ask that counters are used to indicate such states as pinned,
bailed out, dug in and gone to ground.
Food
Battlefield Hobbies will be providing the food for the event and your
lunch for each day is included in your ticket price. Battlefield
Hobbies will also offer liquid refreshment throughout the day.
Allowed lists
You will need a 1515 point army from any current official V4 Late
War briefing. All lists to be submitted no later than Saturday 14th
October 2017.

additional soft scores and most sporting will have no impact on the

unpainted figures. We will deduct 2 competition points for each unit
that includes unpainted figures.
Trophies
