Arden House is one of Scotland’s landmark buildings, being an impressive “B” listed Scots baronial mansion that sits on the western shores of Loch Lomond amidst extensive and mature garden grounds. Arden House was built by John Burnett in 1868 and was designed for Sir James Lumsden, the then knighted Lord Provost of Glasgow, who acquired the Arden estate in the late 1860’s. The building is blessed with some beautiful features both inside and out, including turrets, cones, tourelles and internally, hand carved fireplaces, wood panelling and ornate ceiling detailing and cornicing.

Flat L is located to the rear of the building and enjoys access from a small private car park situated behind the house. On entering from here there is only one apartment on this level and residents can also enter from the main entrance of the building walking through the formal entrance lobby and hallway with its grand staircase and fireplace.

The flat is generously proportioned and enjoys lovely views from the main lounge and bedrooms over the wooded gardens. The property lies off the main A82 which runs along the west side of Loch Lomond and Arden House is accessed via a lengthy tarmacadam driveway where there is a large parking area in front of the property. Alternatively there is access to the small car park at the rear of the property which serves this particular flat. The waterside setting is between the Cameron House Hotel and the Carrick Golf Course and Spa which together offer luxurious facilities that have long been recognised as one of Scotland’s premier hotel destinations. In addition to this there is also the world renowned Loch Lomond Golf Club which is only a few minutes’ drive away. There are a number of local restaurants and hotels nearby including the Lodge on the Loch and the Lomond Arms Hotel at Luss. Helensburgh is nearby offering a wide selection of facilities and good schooling. Glasgow is within easy commuting distance via the A82 and the International Airport can be accessed by the Erskine Bridge.

From Clyde Property’s Helensburgh office on West Princes Street, turn left and at the traffic lights at the junction of Sinclair Street turn left and continue up Sinclair Street and out of Helensburgh. Continue for approximately three and a half miles, take the third exit at the next roundabout remaining on the A818 and after another one and a half miles at the next roundabout take the second exit straight through and then turn immediately right. Continue along this driveway and it takes you up to the front of the building. Alternatively turn left off the driveway before reaching the main house and continue along this lane, past a courtyard development on the left before turning right into a small private car park at the back of Arden House. Park here and the entrance door is to the rear of the building. Continue through the door and the flat entrance is on the left hand side.
