Thefollowingnotesarefortypicalinstallationsbutasindividualcircumstancesmayvary,pleasecontactourtechnicaldepartmentifyourequireanyassistance.Beforestartingreadalltheseguidelinesandensurethegullysuitstherequirementsforitspurpose–see‘DesignConsiderations’.

1. Preparation

Werecommendthatcomponentsaretrial-assembledbeforeinstallationtodoublecheckcompatibility.Ifused,screwthespigotadaptorintothebodyoutletusingasuitablesealanttoensureawatertightjoint.

2. Measure distance to finished floor level

Ensurethedistancebetweenthefinishedfloorlevelandthetopofpipeworkissufficienttofitthecompletedfloorassembly.

Thisdistanceshouldenablethecompleteassembly(withextensions,ifapplicable)tobeinstalledsothatthetopfaceofthegratingorcoverfinishesatthefinishedfloorlevel.

Ifusingsideinletsensuretheirpositionallowsafalltothegully.Thebodymustbeinstalledwiththetopoftheflangeatorbelowmembranelevel.

3. Install body

Connectbody(withspigotadaptorifapplicable)tothepipework.Allourbodiescanbeusedinsolidfloors.

Useawideflangedbodyfortimberdecks.Theflangecanbedrilledforfixingsoruseanunderdeckclamp(33.9610or33.9620)tofixassembly.Ifthedeckisrecessedfortheflange,considertheneedtoreinforcethecuttimberedge.

4. Dress membrane and fit clamp

Ifused,dressthemembraneovertheflangetotheedgeofthebodysumpinaccordancewithmembranemanufacturer’sinstructionsensuringthemembranedoesnotrestricttheoutletorthreadsforthegrating.

Boltthemembraneclampingcollartothebody.Thinmembranesmayrequirethescrewlengthtobereduced.

Note: someclampsarereversibletoincreaseheightadjustabilitytothefinishedfloorlevel.Insomecases,e.g.largesumpbodies(31.1024etc),themembraneclampmustbeusedasitconnectsthegratingtothebody.

5. Install grating

Fitgratingorroddingeyetothebodyensuringthesurfaceisatfinishedfloorlevelusingtheheightadjustabilityofthetop.Withsquaregratingsensurebodyisrotatedsoanyheightadjustmentofthegratingallowsittoalignwithtilesorpaving.

Usescrewsprovidedwithcamtypeheightadjustmenttolockthegrateattherequiredlevel.

6. Finish floor

Layfloorscreedandapplythefloorfinisharoundthegratingorcover.Fitremovableaccessories,e.g.funnels,sedimentbucketsetc.Ifsheetvinylflooringorsimilarisuseddressthefinishoverthegratingbezelandclampusingthein-builtclampring.
