CAFÉ ATRIUM SCULPTURE, INTERIOR ($20,000-32,000.00) This Café location is east of the main entrance. It is a two-‐story atrium that is visible from the 1st and 2nd floor, the sky bridge and from the exterior through the prominent curved 2-‐story glass wall. There is a staircase with landing bordering the space. We are looking for a suspended sculpture/ mobile that will visually activate this space and inspire the viewer from a variety of approaches. See (é) for location from various viewpoints. For theme options, see KEYWORDS below or Attachment A: Art Themes Artists or artist teams interested in submitting preliminary concepts for this commission should have experience in creating large-‐scale kinetic or suspended sculptures and are recommended to visit the site June 15th. RSVP required by June 12th.

one can find respite from stress; Refreshing palette; Sense of joyfulness or playfulness
• Aesthetic: Original/ Creative/ Inventive; Timeless; Beautiful; All art styles and media considered
• Spatial Effects: Sculptural; Airy yet with volume or substantial forms; Floating; Follow space contours and volume of space -‐ Biomorphic or curved forms; Consider various viewpoints (from entry, inside, from stairwell, from upstairs)

IMPORTANT DESIGN CONSIDERATION: This Café commission will be visually connected to the 4-‐story architectural art glass (shown left) to be installed at the western side of the building on the 1st & 2nd Floors. The Café artist will need to be mindful to visually complement this architectural work so when seen simultaneously there is a feeling of continuity and harmony, yet have design and concept autonomy of its own. ** For questions or plan requests, email questions to [email protected], Note on Subject: HCMC Café
