The participants, acting as the students, will collaborate to create and publish technology-enhanced learning outcomes that will be available online for reinforcement, remediation, and assessment. Where is the Regional Science Institutes?

When does the Regional Science Institute begin?

Florida: Monday, June 18th - Registration begins at 4PM, Welcome at 5:00 PM

When does the Regional Science Institute end?

Florida: Wednesday, June 21st - Finish by 1:30PM

How much does the Institute cost?

There is no registration fee and Discovery covers meals beginning with dinner on he first day through lunch on the fourth day. Educators are responsible for travel costs to and from the institute.

Discovery is paying for lodging. So, do I get my own room?

You will have up to 4 roommates. You each will have your own bedroom, with 2 bathrooms in each apartment. Below is a sample floor plan.

I need to fly/drive in the day before. Will Discovery pay for my room on the day prior to the institute?

No. We do not start on the first day until 5:00 PM to allow for travel.

Can I bring a guest with me (e.g., spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend)?

No, unless they have been accepted as an attendee to the Institute.

Will we have time for sightseeing?

You will not have free time to go into Orlando, but we do have an excursion planned.

What type of clothes should we wear during the week?

Dress is informal. Check the weather forecast prior to coming.

Is renting a car sensible?

That is totally up to you, but it will be sitting in a parking lot for 99% of the week.

Where do I unload and register?

You’ll go to the Lake Claire Apartments on the campus of the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. There is a parking lot in the middle of the complex that you may park in to unload and register.

How do I access the internet?

You will receive log-in information at registration. This will grant you access to the wireless network that is throughout the campus. You do not need to pay for the internet, it has been prepaid for you.

Where is the full agenda?

You should have received an invitation to join Sched.org earlier. All schedules, descriptions and locations are available here. This is a free service that you may access on any mobile device or computer.

We purchased a linen packet for every attendee that contains:

• a flat and fitted sheet• 1 pillowcase• 1 bath towel• 1 hand towel• 1 washcloth• 1 blanket• 1 pillow• Toilet paper is provided in each bathroom

If you would like to bring additional towels and/or blankets that is up to you.

• Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.)

• Laundry detergent (optional)

• Any medications you are currently taking.

• Clothes (check the weather forecast prior to arriving)

• Comfortable shoes

• Laptop/Tablet/iPad etc... (each campus is wireless and attendees will receive their access codes at registration)
