Flotex; the hygienic option

Flotex is made o a solid vinyl, reinorced base and a densely locked

surace o nylon 6.6 ibres that are anchored irmly into that base. Flotex

is extremely dimensionally stable and has the visual and acoustic beneits

o a textile loor covering whilst having similar unctional properties to

a resilient loor.

And theres more, Flotex has certiied hygienic and slip resistant

properties too.

Flotex comes in an unprecedented range o patterns, colours and designs

which means it can also combine perectly with other loor inishes. Workwith a variety o textures and materials within the same project, including

Flotex, to deliver on both aesthetic and practical requirements.

Creating better environments

Flotex production is ISO14001 accredited; demonstrating good

environmental management and is the only locked loor covering to

have been assessed by the Building Research Establisment (BREEAM)

Environmental Assessment Method which provides a credible and

objective environmental rating or a buildings environmental impact.

In addition, we are using Lie Cycle Assessments to identiy ways to urther

enhance our environmental perormance.

Creating a healthier environment

The anti microbial Sanitized treatment o the Flotex base ensures

consistent protection against bacteria such as MRSA and E.coli, or moulds

such as athletes oot ungi.

The Sanitized treatment is compounded into the backing o Flotex,

continually rereshing the antimicrobial perormance without degradation

through cleaning or vacuuming. This makes Flotex the ideal loor covering

or healthcare or educational institutions such as care acilities

or kindergartens.

It also suppresses the growth o dust mite populations. Independent tests

show that a dust mite population introduced to Flotex is reduced by

an average o 86% over an eight week period. Flotex also has a positive

impact on the lives o allergy suerers as daily vacuuming cleans away

twice as many allergens compared to conventional carpets due to Flotexs

unique ibre construction that releases dirt in a single cleaning exercise.

That is why Flotex carries the British Allergy

Foundation seal o approval.

The dense locked surace provides an ideal acoustic barrier reducing noice

by up to 20 dB, ensuring the comort & wellbeing o those in application

areas where its important.

At the same time the nylon ibres provide a surace that is smooth yet

provides enough resistance to oot traic to be considered slip resistant

and as such passes the UK SGR pendulum test.

has a smooth, velour like surace that is comortable to walk on, warm underoot with excellent slip

resistant and acoustic properties.

standard cleaning equipment and as the locked ibres are irmly anchored into a waterproo backing,

its possible to clean right down to the base o the pile.

As with any product, colour and design inluence the appearance retention o the loor. Likewise, Flotex is able

to hideany soiling or dirt to a greater or lesser degree depending on the base colour and the visual design.

Using European (EN) approved testing methodology we have graded every item in the collection on its ability

to hidegeneral dirt or staining that occurs during normal use depending on the application.

The result is a usage classiication that can be reerred

to when taking into consideration such things as type

and level o traic in the chosen application area.

The classiication is shown alongside each colour

and design in this brochure.

Cleanable surace inish

When prescribed cleaning procedures are ollowed,

Flotex outperorms any textile loor covering in

appearance. Its smooth upright nylon 6.6 ibres

allow dirt to be easily removed. No dry dirt is trapped

by any loops or twists (as can happen with standard

carpet) and the vacuum action reaches the very base

o the pile, meaning that all dirt is removed.

The vinyl base combined with the nylon 6.6 locked

inish allows the loor covering to be ully cleaned

with water and detergents. Steam cleaning or

mechanical cleaning methods can also be applied

resulting in cleaner loors. Flotex is thereore the only

truly waterproo textile which enables the loor to be

restored quickly and easily even ater heavy soiling.
