Assignment

• Annotated Bibliography (3-4 pages) Due – Oct. 6th at 8 pm

• …. present an annotated bibliography, for an argumentative paper on the topic the reception of a film of your choice which premiered before Jan. 1, 1932.

• You will need to select a film. It’s not terribly important which film,

so long as there’s a “decent” amount of writing available about it

Searching online databases & resources

• Double check spellings

• For unique names, use just last name– eisenstein

• For names and titles that are also common phrases, use “quotation marks”– “curtain pole”

• Try different spellings of names– charles chaplin or charlie chaplin

Searching online databases & resources

• Use date limits if available – Limit to date range for the few years after film

premiered.

• Check for other ways to limit lists of results if you have too many
