• so far I have read a good amount of this book and I am really close to finishing the book Scorpions by Walter Dean Myers. This book has been very interesting and Walter Dean Myers is a great author and he's my favorite. I still haven't read a book by Walter Dean Myers wrote that I haven't like.I would recommend this book to anyone who has read books by Walter Dean Myers and liked them. The main character is a boy named Jamal and his best friend is Tito. his mother constantly yells at him and he gets arrested in the book Scorpions.

• One of the toughest parts of writing for teens and young adults is capturing the language and moods and atmosphere of being a kid. And the highlight of this book was just how well Myers captured the "culture" of twelve. The dialog was authentic without having to lean on slang too heavily and the general attitudes of Jamal and Tito rang very true. As did their friendship which was the heart and backbone of the story. This is the kind of book that will get reluctant readers to actually read.

• The book, Scorpions, greatest strength is the way it captures the reader’s attention. The book uses phrases and crimes and so many other things to do so. The events that happened in the book were told in such a realistic way that can be portrayed in real life. “I was on fire, it’s my earliest memory. I was three years old, and we were living in a trailer park in a southern Arizona town whose name I never knew. I was standing on a chair on top of the stove, wearing a res pair of shorts my grandmother had bought me” (Myers, 9).

• To me this book does not have a weakness because it consists of very amusing factors and it ends with an amazing ending. So hypothetically if this book did have a weakness I would say that this book does not have enough chapters within it to get more in depth. I would recommend this book to a friend without a doubt in my mind, and with every intention to convince them to read this book. I know the types of books people would like to read, and it’s things children go through in high-school and middle school so they can have something to relate to while reading this great book.
