Tips for Applying Non-Border Dressings

Prepare the wound the same as above. Non-border dressings can be cut to fit the wound, if required.

When applying the heel dressing, press and conform the dressing over the heel.

Gentle silicone interface will provide micro-adhesion to aid application.

Fully secure with tape, rolled gauze or compression wrap.

Heel dressing can be used in other hard to dress locations such as elbows and underarms.

When dressing a sacral ulcer, remove the center protective cover.

Slightly flex the dressing to place into the gluteal folds.

Remove the side protective covers and smooth down.

Prepare Apply and Secure Wear

Cleanse the wound according to established procedures; ensure surrounding skin is dry prior to dressing application.

Choose dressing size so the central foam pad covers the entire wound.

Remove protective liner and position the dressing over the wound.

Remove the second protective liner. Smooth down.

Apply gentle pressure to the dressing border to secure dressing.

Avoid stretching and pulling the dressing during application.

Dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days, depending on exudate level and clinical condition of the wound.
