Folens School at Home: 5th & 6th Class Weekly Plan: Week 3
Introduction The purpose of Folens School at Home is to help parents support their child’s learning at home. Shortly after schools closed down, we at Folens made all of our resources available for parents to use on FolensOnline. However, we understand that parents may not feel they have the time or expertise to pick and choose the most suitable activities for their child across multiple subjects. So, we turned to some experienced primary school teachers and asked them to put together a weekly plan for parents to use at home with their child. The purpose of the plan is to identify age-appropriate resources that can be used to help children learn and to provide some guidance to parents when using them. Each week, we will publish a new plan and accompanying digital resources for each of the three core subjects, English, Gaeilge and Maths, as well SESE (History, Geography and Science). We at Folens appreciate that these are challenging times for everyone and that many parents will have a limited amount of time to support their child’s learning. There is no pressure to complete every activity in the weekly plan – it can simply be used as a menu from which parents can pick and choose.
Accessing the Digital Resources The digital resources can all be accessed from FolensOnline. For ease of use, we have included a link to each resource in the plan just below the thumbnail image of the resource. NB: In order to launch each resource, you will need to be logged in to FolensOnline.
