Folk Rock The folk rock genre varies in many different ways. This

genre of 60’s music is very broad. Folk rock includes a variety of traditional & regional music. There is a lot of bits and pieces of other genres tied into folk rock. It’s a clean, harmonized approach on electric instruments.

Folk rock had a positive impact on culture of the 60’s. It fostered anti-war and emphasized freedom and environmental respect. Also, christian youth put folk rock music to use in there workshops & retreats to inspire faith and commitment.

The Band, Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan, I’d say is the ultimate icon of folk rock of the 60’s. his music consists of a lot of acoustics and poetic/protesting lyrics. He performed by himself with just himself his guitar and harmonica.

He started off very acoustic but tried to turn his sound around and add half electric which his fans didn’t approve of.
