AVATAR The font was created in 1982 by Chris Costello, a graphic designer, illustrator, and web designer. And later was released in 1983 to the foundry Letrase. The font was originally hand-drawn over a period of six mouths by means of calligraphy pen and textured paper. Costello described his goal, as a font that would represent what English language texts would have a number of distinctive characteristics, including rough edges, irregular curves, and high horizontal strokes in the capitals. The font was also described as an unusual roman typeface that effectively merges the elegance of a traditional roman letterform with the handcraft look of highly skilled calligraphy. The font also has an alternative font published by Elsner and Flake called Papyrus EF Alternatives or Papyrus EF Regular, provides a slight variation to Costello’s font. The difference is that there are shorter and shaper capital p,a,e with a top bar longer than the middle bar. The font is also good to be uses in poetry Graphic designers and others often criticize the typeface for being overused incorrectly in various media. The font was created in 1982 by Chris Costello, a graphic designer, illustrator, and web designer.

Papyrus has been used in Arizona Tea packaging; movie logs like Serenity and Avatar, TV show Crocodile Hunter, and the metal band Lamb of God.

Papyrus is often used anywhere that a somewhat antique look might be desired, such as coffee shop, restaurants, food packaging, and church flyers.

The font can also be uses in fantasy novels and books for chapter texts and titles. The font is also good to be uses in poetry

Graphic designers and others often criticize the typeface for being overused incorrectly in various media. We can be sure that it was designed for professional use, and that with its mass proliferation it has become overused and abused. Oh, one more thing: Papyrus was designed for use as headlines, not body copy.

The typeface has been included in many Microsoft programs for Window and Mac OS installations.
