to recharge the battery pack either when moving or parked. The B.M.S (Battery Management System) -de-signed, manufactured and patented by IMoving- can manage recharging through the generator while ensuring maximum storage efficiency thanks to the lithium batteries. IMovings lithium battery pack was designed to effectively adjust to the installation of this new technology. The Range Ex-tended (R.E.) system can be switched on and off directly by the dashboard, the switch that controls its operation. In AUTO mode the R.E. kicks in au-tomatically when the B.M.S detects a low battery level and sends an input to the R.E. to extend the range. In MAN-UAL mode the system is switched on or off based on the needs of the route and at the discretion of the driver.Imagine you are travelling downtown from the outskirts and you want to ful-ly charge your battery pack so that you can use the electric energy later for a zero-impact cruise through the historic center: switch and leave on Range Ex-tended during the out-of-town part of your trip, then switch it off when you are about to enter the restricted traf-fic area or EcoPass area.

The R.E. system can also function as a service or emergency generator because the electricity produced can be used both to charge the battery pack and for external use. In fact, the single-phase sockets on the outside of the vehicle can be used to power any electric or electronic tool, turn-ing the vehicle into an off-grid mobile power station. The lack of a capillary network of charging points for elec-tric vehicles and the long charging times of the battery packs have been bypassed thanks to the on-board

system which can run also when the vehicle is parked, thus exploiting idle time (the vehicles stop time) to the fullest. For this reason the Range Ex-tended system has proven particu-larly suitable for electric refrigerated vans used to transport food requiring an unbroken temperature chain. Also when parked, and with the electric engine off, the generator provides enough energy for the refrigeration systems to function properly.

Advantages of chain transmissionThe main advantage of chain transmission is the possibility to transmit either small or large powers with the same level of safety, limited size and optimal performance. Another advantage is the high level of elasticity of the chain links and therefore the ability to neutralize the discontinuity of the transmission to a large extent and to mitigate tears. Chain transmission, in comparison to belt transmission, takes up less space, not so much for the shafts and the supports (which depends on the pull or power to be transmitted) , but for its overall size. With the same pull, the chain

FeaturesUnlike belt transmission, the chain can operate without dif culty at relatively high temperatures with the only requisite being the use of suitable lubrication. Only a slight adjustment is present allowing the chains to transport heavier loads with respect to belt transmission. Chain transmissions ensure long working life.
