Coriolis mass flowmeters offer a reliable solution for many flow applications due to their excellent reproducibility and high accuracy. Now Endress+Hauser has added an exceptional and highly optimized sensor design to the innovative Promass family with the introduction of Promass S.
Promass S solves a fundamental dilemma with traditional Coriolis meters in the food and beverage industry. In the past, before you selected a meter, you were forced to decide if that meter would be used for clean liquids, products of high value, gas service, utilities and feedstocks, slurry or high solids processes, or even special quality parameters like ˚Brix or % Concentration. Thanks to the revolutionary, hygienic design of Promass S, those days are over. Promass S provides a cost effective, simple, single solution that is capable of satisfying the entire application range-without a sacrifice in performance. In fact, Promass S is the most accurate single tube Coriolis meter ever made - not just flow, but density as well. Promass S combines a high level of measuring performance with the mechanical benefits only available with single tube meters.

Promass S
The hygienic design of Promass S allows it to be fully drainable in plant process or skid mounted systems. The fully welded, gasket free sensor design eliminates moving parts, seal deterioration, minimizes leak paths, and removes performance concerns between wear and tear maintenance routines thereby enforcing the Promass “fit and forget” philosophy that is not only visible in your product quality, but also in your balance sheet.
The single measuring tube technology has no flow splitter to damage ingredient aesthetics, size, and shape and promotes overall gentle fluid treatment and reduced shear stress on your products. The easy to install, flexible sensor design requires no inlet or outlet straight run piping, flow profilers, or conditioners-better yet, the unique single tube design requires no process strainers for solids while easing concerns of pressure loss with highly viscous fluids. In fact, Promass S excels in slurries, heavy solids, gels, and pastes.
Promass S provides assurance that 3-A, EHEDG, and the intent of FDA guidelines are met. Promass S provides a polished surface finish throughout the entire measuring system, not just the process connection. The entire wetted surface area meets or exceeds 150 grit or Ra max. 0.8 um ensuring a clean, sterile, and hygienic product.

The unmatched, multivariable stand-out Promass I is yet another first in Coriolis technology available only from Endress+Hauser. Promass I was developed to meet and exceed evolving industry demands for increasing process availability, improved efficiency and product quality, as well as reduced risk for personnel safety and process contamination.
Promass I is the world’s first Coriolis meter to directly measure and provide a dynamic output for process viscosity without the need of external measurement devices or process computers. Furthermore, Promass I provides a fantastic window to real-time variables under real-world conditions by accurately providing direct display and outputs for up to four process variables such as product density, process temperature, % concentration, % solids, ˚Brix, as well as dynamic or kinematic fluid viscosity from a single, obstructionless, in-line “analyzer” that also measures flow to better than 0.15% of rate.
Promass I opens a new dimension in viscosity measurement
Besides being the unmatched multivariable leader in Coriolis measurement, the Promass I provides Endress+Hauser customers:
• A highly accurate, fit and forget flow metering solution that requires no inlet or outlet piping considerations• A single, straight measuring tube for unmatched drainability and hygienic quality in a fully welded, gasket free design• A flowmeter that mirrors the piping system and reduces system pressure loss while promoting overall energy cost reduction in fluid conveyance systems• Elimination of in-process flow splitters thereby reducing shear stress on product and promoting overall gentle fluid treatment• Space saving, compact design that promotes simple and easy installation - even in the tightest spaces or difficult angles• Full elimination of moving parts and “wear and tear” issues associated with rotating, vibratory, or sample systems• A brilliant, robust design with Endress+Hauser patented TMB™ (Torsion Mode Balance) technology that makes Promass I the most stable and immune straight tube Coriolis meter available to reliably increase your confidence

Promass F means much more than high accuracy mass flow
After more than 0 years and more than 100,000 pieces, the Endress+Hauser Promass F continues to address the growing needs of industry. It’s well documented that Promass F provides the highest degree of accuracy for mass flow and density. However, due to the advances in on-board computational power in recent years, Promass F has been providing a high degree of confidence with in-line measurement of advanced density functions previously found only in laboratory or quality control environments. Today, Endress+Hauser customers are taking advantage of this reality and confidently increasing the installed value, availability, and multivariable potential of the unmatched leader in process performance - Promass F.
Combining the density measurement integrity of Promass with the simple to use, yet highly secure Endress+Hauser density software tool, Promass customers are able to program simple, complex and even proprietary process quality data securely into the common Promass transmitter without sharing their process knowledge with the highly competitive world we operate in today. Whether our brewing customers are measuring ˚Plato in wort, or if our citrus partners are measuring ˚Brix in orange juice, or even our dairy partners measuring %Mass of caramel and fudge in their ice cream, Promass fully accounts for the widest process temperature ranges, specific fluid expansion coefficients, and industry specific engineering units. The highly flexible, on-board range of simple two dimensional or temperature dependent three dimensional coefficients are easily calculated prior to commissioning and can be easily corrected or standardized to in-plant lab and grab sample practices. Combine the flexibility of Promass electronics with the most respected sensor design available today and you too can experience the in process benefit only available from Endress+Hauser.
Advantages that speak for themselves • Best-in-class calibration - accreditation to ISO 17025 and 0.05% mass• Elimination of costly external devices, potential contamination from additional pipe breaks, and the added complexity of external computation devices by including multivariable quality measurement opportunity for % solids, % concentration, ˚Brix, ˚Plato, ˚Balling or even Proof measurement in a single, highly accurate and repeatable device• A highly robust and stable measuring system with a high degree of immunity against temperature shock during thermal cycling, Clean In Place, and Steam in Place systems • A compact measuring sensor that offers free drainability and hygienic quality in a fully welded, gasket free design• A high resonant frequency that eliminates the need for external braces, mounting supports, and stabilizers to overcome zero point drift and measuring system influence caused by vibration, pumps, and other harmonic producers• Reduction or even elimination of costly grab sample or slip stream measurements to assess product quality parameters with simple to use software that is fully optimized to the lab standard to promote high confidence of the in-line measurement• Full elimination of moving parts and “wear and tear” issues associated with mechanical flow devices, vibratory or optical in-line analysis equipment, and special cleaning requirements for off-line sample systems

Delays and production losses can far exceed the costs of planned start-up! A high percentage of instrument problems can be traced to start-up by unqualified personnel. These can be prevented by scheduling a trained Endress+Hauser service technician to be on-site during start-up.
Basic factory warranty is extended from 1 to 3 years when start-up is purchased on your instrumentation order. Ask for start-up to be quoted with your new instruments.www.us.endress.com/start-up
In many processes, the function of flowmeters must be periodically checked and tested due to internal or legal requirements. Fieldcheck™ is a test and simulation device that permits regular on-site checking of your installed flowmeters without the need of removal or process interruption.
Endress+Hauser’s Service department is dedicated to keeping your plant working efficiently seven days-a-week, 24 hours-a-day. Technicians are located throughout the country to provide various levels of support for you and your instruments.
