Pre-Conference Workshop: Promoting Community EnvironmentalHealth Literacy: Interactive, Problem-Based Education Kits forDiverse AudiencesPresented by: TBA Participants in this session will engage with interactive environmentalpublic health education kits. These kits were developed in partnership withcommunity groups in diverse communities across the country. These fullyassembled “labs in bags” require no prep, are graphically rich, story-based,integrate hands-on activities, and involve limited reading providing aconvenient, engaging way to increase the environmental public healthliteracy of and support health advocacy by a range of communityaudiences. These activities take only 20 minutes and are easily replicableby groups with limited budgets. After a brief overview of the kits,participants will complete at least one kit of their choosing, reflect on howit could serve diverse audiences, and discuss potential for future use insupport of health advocacy. Snack break, materials and 3 continuingeducation credit hours (CHES & CPH) provided with this session.
