Protecting Where We Live, Work, and Play April 29th-May 1st, 2020 | Niagara Falls, NY Pre-Conference Workshop: Promoting Community Environmental Health Literacy: Interactive, Problem-Based Education Kits for Diverse Audiences Presented by: TBA Participants in this session will engage with interactive environmental public health education kits. These kits were developed in partnership with community groups in diverse communities across the country. These fully assembled “labs in bags” require no prep, are graphically rich, story-based, integrate hands-on activities, and involve limited reading providing a convenient, engaging way to increase the environmental public health literacy of and support health advocacy by a range of community audiences. These activities take only 20 minutes and are easily replicable by groups with limited budgets. After a brief overview of the kits, participants will complete at least one kit of their choosing, reflect on how it could serve diverse audiences, and discuss potential for future use in support of health advocacy. Snack break, materials and 3 continuing education credit hours (CHES & CPH) provided with this session. 1:30 - 5:00 PM Wednesday, April 29, 2020
