I. WHAT BAPTISM IS FOR ALL?
THE BAPTISM OF THE GREAT COMMISION IS FOR “ALL”
Matt. 28:19, Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Mk. 16:15, And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieveth shall be condemned.
Matt. 28:19, “…Baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 2:38, “Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins”
WHAT WAS THE BAPTISM OF THE GREAT COMMISSION?

Acts 2:38, “Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins”
Acts 10:47, Can any man forbid the water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Water baptism is baptism in the name of Jesus
Christ!
Water baptism is
for all.
THERE ARE TWO OCCURRENCES OF HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM IN THE NEW TESTAMENT
Acts 2:1, And when the day of Pentecost was now come, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them tongues parting asunder, like as of fire; and it sat upon each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM WAS NOT FOR “ALL”
Acts 8:14, Now when the apostles that were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit: 16 for as yet it was fallen upon none of them: only they had been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. 18 Now when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money.

Acts 19:1, ...Paul having passed through the upper country came to Ephesus, and found certain disci- ples: 2 and he said unto them, Did ye receive the Holy Spirit when ye believed? And they said unto him, Nay, we did not so much as hear whether the Holy Spirit was given. 3 And he said, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into John's baptism. 4 And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him that should come after him, that is, on Jesus. 5 And when they heard this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

What in the Spirit-inspired wordwould lead one to be baptized?
Mk. 16:16, He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

They had been baptized in the name of Christ.
1 Cor. 1:13, Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye bap- tized in the name of Paul?

Baptism in the name of Christ is water baptism.

Baptism in the name of Christ is for the remission of sins.

Water baptism and the Holy Spirit joined together in verses speaking about salvation:
Jno. 3:5, Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God!
Ti. 3:5, Not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.

BAPTISM IS “INTO ONE BODY”
Eph 4:4, There is one body
Eph 5:23, ...Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Eph 1:22, And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body...
Order: Baptized to be saved – into the Lord’s church
Not: Saved – then baptized into “the church of your choice”
