I4C | Organizers & LocationsOrganizers
Innovation for Change is a joint collaboration between CERN
Ideasquare, Collège des Ingénieurs Italia and Politecnico di Torino to
bring together their respective expertise of fundamental research,
management education and technology education towards the
common goals of empowering the future change makers and to
enable technology for positive global impact.
Knowledge partner
LocationsInnovation for Change is an international program that will take place
in Turin (Italy) in TAG Fondazione Agnelli which is the headquarters
of CDI Italia and in Geneva (Switzerland) where the teams will have
the opportunity to use spaces of Ideasquare, the experimental
structure of CERN dedicated to research and development projects
and interdisciplinary programs.

I4C | The ChallengePartners propose a challenge that is relatable to the UN
SDGs - United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Challenge Points
An ideal challenge has the following characteristics:
● Has a long term perspective
● If resolved, has a global impact
● Usually not covered by market
● Is relevant to the company
● Related to one or more UN SDGs
Example Previous Challenges
● Tackling the reactive Nitrogen Emissions
● Finding solutions to climate change
● Solving gender imbalance in STEM education
● Microplastics pollution in water sources

I4C | Alumni ProjectsWhile some of the projects develop into startups post
I4C and raise funding, most of the projects are later
continued internally by the sponsor companies &
institutions.
• Aquasmart (2016) is working with Acquedotto Asp
Asti and has a partnership with Maddalena
• SoundBubble (2017) is developing the industrial
product version in support with ENEL
• Aria (2018) is working with the Turin City Lab to
deploy their sensors for a pilot project
• Ctrl N, Hubvance, impActo and Spectrum (2019)
have been selected to present at the Global Grad
Show in Dubai in Nov 2019

I4C | Alumni Projects
SpectrumLab (2019)
Spectrum, a reflective thermochromic paint, is an energy efficiency solution for buildings which tackles
global warming
Aria (2018)
Aria collects real-time data about pollutants through a pool of proprietary sensors to assess
the air quality in the entire urban area.
Soundbubble (2017)
Soundbubble combines sound source separation, noise cancellation and speaker recognition
techniques to solve the problem of noisy working environments.
