Joao Duarte Cunha, Coordinator ([email protected]) Joao holds an MA in Economics with Environmental Studies from Edinburgh University, an MSc in Development Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and a PG Diploma in Innovation and Development Policy from the University of Aveiro (Portugal). He has over 12 years experience - in development banking, bilateral cooperation and consulting - in designing and implementing projects and programmes in the energy, water, environment and social sectors, as well as in investment promotion, small business development and microfinance.
Cherif Seye, Financial Advisor ([email protected]) Cherif holds an electrical engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Marseilles (France), and an MBA from Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche Appliquée au Management (CERAM School of Management in France) and University of Phoenix (Arizona, USA). With this dual profile, Cherif brings solid knowledge of technical and financial issues of RE projects and Private Sector development, including the design and implementation of PPP initiatives. Cherif has more than 15 years of experience of RE projects (engineering, project development, structuring) around the world of which 12 in Africa.
Antony Karembu, Policy and PPP Specialist ([email protected]) Anthony holds an MSc in Energy Economics from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee, Scotland and a PG Diploma in PPP from the University of Queensland, Australia. His area of expertise is renewable energy with special focus on legal and regulatory frameworks, financial and economic valuation of RE projects, tariff pricing models, project risks assessment and capacity building. With over 15 years experience, has previously worked as a Program Manager – Energy Sector for KfW East Africa regional office and as the Chief Economist for the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KENGEN).
