LocationOur school is located in 2 places, one on the Hudson river, and the other in the Empire state building, on the 82nd and 83rd floor of in

Manhattan, New York

Empire State building location

• The first half of the year some students attend the school in the Empire State Building. There special classes and activities include building boats (canoes) that will be used on the Hudson River. They also learn about engines and other mechanics here. We also have a

mock courtroom for students who would like to become lawyers. Mock trials are performed here every day.

Hudson River location

• At our Hudson River location, children learn basics in education, and also perform hands on activities in the mechanic field. If children live far away there is housing available for them at this location.

Education• At the DS School, we offer the top notch education to all of our

students. Our school is offered to children in grades K-8. This school is a private, coed school. Classes start at 9:30am and end at 4pm. We offer a variety of different subjects and extra circular, and elective classes that other schools don’t. Languages

taught hear include Latin, Spanish, and French. Grades 1- 3 focus on Spanish, 4-8 on all languages. There are three classes regular, honors, and scholars. We also have an elite group of teachers and staff.

In grades 7 and 8, students have two free periods every day for electives. Students can take classes on preparing them for careers

in science, law, medicine, and business.

Out of School Activities

• This year, our students took field trips to places all over the East Coast including Philadelphia, the Hudson River, and Williamsburg, Albany, Jamestown, and Cape May. Every grade goes on field trips, and get assignments that go with the field trip. Our Lego robotics team won a bid to the international tournament in

Atlanta, where they finished 3rd.

Sports and Clubs

• AT the DS school, we offer a variety of sports including basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, chess, golf, and swimming. We have a head coach, and an assistant coach for every team. We also offer a lot of clubs including Hudson River diving, fishing, environmental studies, debate team,

and film studies.

Technology• At the DS school, we have state of the ark

technology. We have smart board technology in every classroom we have. We even have smart map technology, which is a visualized map that you can zoom in and out of different parts of the world. We have apple desktops that our students use when in computer class, or when needed.

Art and Music• At the DS school, all students are required to

take one art and one music class a week. In music class they can learn how to play instruments of their choice, and to about the different variety of types of music. In our art classes, students paint, draw, and color the projects that they are assigned.

Funding

• Our funding comes from tuition and investments. We also receive money from alumni, such as Roy Rucci, head of Rucci oil company.
