Our journey started from Pune railway station in the morning for
Bangalore at 11am. Confirmed sleeper class tickets at concessional rates
were obtained for the students. The long journey of almost 20 hours
started with great joy and excitement. The feel of hot and cold breezes
was felt throughout the journey with lots of funny remarkable moments
and the laughter continued all over. We landed in Bangalore in the next
morning where a luxurious bus carried all of us to our rescue. Time slot
of 2 hours was decided for freshen up and then we planned to move for
our first site visit.
*DAY 2 (21ST Feb 2019) (Bangalore)*
1. HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum,
Bangalore
HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum Bengaluru is a vital part in
understanding the students the different models of aircraft models and
working of aircraft engine. This visit was planned in order to know the
role played by the Indian Defence in our country and to fill the gap
between the academics and industrial learning.
Mentioning some of the highlights
Students have seen the photographs and the growth of aviation inch
decade from 1940 till date and also the various motorized cross
section of models of aero engines, they also came to know various
functions of the engines
They got to know about some real engines such as Garret (Dornier)
Adour (Jaguar) and Orpheus (Kiran) which could be found there.
Students were acknowledged with the working of an ATC Radar
perched with L-band surveillance radar having a range of 200
nautical miles which rotates at a speed of 3-4 RPM, with the
frequency of 1250-1350 MHZ. In addition, PSLV model and PSLV
Heat shield were displayed to give a glimpse of forays made by the
country in the space technology.
We even availed the opportunity and knowledge of special future of
the displayed aircrafts such as MARUT, AJEET, CANBERRA,
HT2, MIG21, ALH and many more.
2. ISKCON Temple
After the wonderful visit to HAL, students thought of devoting some time
to Lord Krishna and planned our next visit to ISKCON temple. We
reached the temple at 3:30pm in the afternoon and had to wait in the long
queue up to 4 pm for the temple to re-open. Few students took the VIP
tickets instead of waiting in the queue. Everyone was inspired to chant the
mantra of Hare Krishna and all the devotees felt the purity and calmness
all over. Shopping and eatery items were easily available and many of us
shopped unique things from there. We had spent a healthy time with
Lord Krishna by witnessing the great story of Lord Rama and his journey
of life.
All of us enjoyed the extraordinary arts in the temple and the beauty of
nature as it was situated at the higher altitude from where almost the
whole city was easily visible. We captured the memories, had fun, ate the
Prasad, and then we left from the place towards our hotel.
Coming back to the Hotel, everyone took the relaxation time for an hour,
after which our next site was planned.
3. Mantri Mall, Bangalore
Returning back from second site, students planned to have some joyful
moments at one of the biggest mall in the Bangalore, hence we visited the
Mantri Mall at 6pm. Students scattered into their different groups. It was a
great time being so free and relaxed with their squads. Some of them
utilized their time for shopping, some had a good food, some of them got
to meet their long distance friends and relatives and finally it was a quality
time for everyone. We left the mall at 9:30pm and returned back to our
Hotel and united for the dinner again.
It was so much fun having a food with all the lovely and funny notorious
students. After such a tiring day, we ended up with lots of gossips at the
hotel rooms. Late night talks, movies, games and fun ran over the mind
of all. Comfortable beds and rooms vanished our tiredness after getting
into it and all went for a sound sleep as the next day was already
scheduled with a lot of places to be covered. Hence, we called it up – A
DAY WELL SPENT…
*DAY 3 (22ND
Feb) Bangalore*
1. UNIBICS COOKIES COMPANY, BANGALORE
On Friday 22th February, 2019 D.Y. Patil Institute of Management, Ambi
has conducted an industrial visit to UNIBIC Company. This visit was for
the awareness of the students on the production process of the company.
The industrial visit started at 10:30 am, where Mr. Prakash Kadam
Factory Manager has welcomed everyone to the UNIBIC cookies factory.
He introduced the company and also mentioned that the company was
started in 2004 which is an Australian originated company.
Then he explained about the production levels of the Company where
they are producing different varieties of cookies. After the introduction,
we were taken to the production site and explained how the
manufacturing process takes place. Different segment and layouts were
briefly explained to the students. Coming to the packaging material part,
there were three types namely primary – which has direct contact with the
cookies and protects them, secondary – which protects the primary
package, tertiary- which protects both. Assembling, Quality checking,
warehousing, loading and unloading of the raw materials, and packaging
were some of the major functions which was exposed to the students
explaining all the minute details of the manufacturing process.
2. Cubbon Park
After the long educative trip to UNIBICS, the folks left for the next site
visit to Cubbon Park. Nature has its own uniqueness has been proved
when the beautiful garden astonished the people with its never ending
therapy. Everyone had their good time roaming around and clicking
pictures of the groups. And then lunch everyone sat for the lunch. A
shade under the trees, calmness all around, a peace and relaxation on the
mind. All the students enjoyed the delicious lunch served to them and
took a small leisure break for relaxation.
3. Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum
Right in front of the Cubbon Park was the famous Museum which was the
next visit. We entered the museum at around 3pm in the afternoon. It
was an amazing experience beyond the expectations of the each
individual. The Museum was divided into different segments like Engine
Hall, How things work, The fun science gallery, Electro-technic gallery,
The space, Biotechnological revolution, BEL Hall of electronics, Science
for children, Dinosaur Alive, Science on a sphere, The wright Brothers.
The crowd witnessed different inventions and discoveries at the museum,
everyone enjoyed at the fullest. So many new things have been observed
by each one of us.
Surprisingly, it was one of the best parts of the visit and the most
interesting place to enjoy with the friends. We roamed around till 6pm
and left for our next site to Bull Temple.
4. Bull Temple
We arrived at the renowned and religious Nandi Temple at around
6:30pm. The specialty of this temple is that the entire sculpture of the bull
is carved out of one single granite rock. There was also a small temple of
Lord Ganesh and the shocking part is that it is made up in every four
years entirely with the butter and the butter does not melt or change
shape even once. Everyone offered the flowers to the God and pursued
their blessings.
It was a wonderful seeing such pleasant sites which not only soothes your
eyes but in fact soothing your heart, mind and soul. Students bought the
hand-made toys and games from the temple. We sat there for around half
an hour and then left the place.
Now, it was a snack time so all went for having the tea/coffee and snacks
in the late evening. We took a halt for half an hour and then moved to
our Bus. The traffic of Bangalore got us struck for another half an hour
and we reached our hotel at 8pm.
A slot of one hour was provided for freshen up and relaxation. We again
gathered for the dinner at our dining room. The tired faces and loose
pajamas described all the story of the hectic yet wonderful and enjoyable
day. Everyone had their dinner and rushed to their rooms for a tight
sleep. The next day trip was planned to Mysore- another tragic desire for
all of us.
Sharp at 6:30am in the morning we left our rescue at Bangalore and
headed for the Mysore City. It took around 4 hours to complete the
journey where the students danced along with the faculties and had a
greatest fun throughout.
*DAY 3 (23RD Feb), Mysore city*
1. Mysore Palace
The incredible historical place known as “Mysore Palace” is located at the
Inner Mysore which is one of the tourist attractions in India. We checked
it into the palace at around 11 am with great enthusiasm. The burning
heat, brighter sun and the great architecture was shining bright. We
walked into the palace with nude legs. The minute detailing of the palace
surprised us with great art work surrounded by the large garden. Students
clicked the photographs and without visiting this place, the tour of Mysore
is complete. The stones were beautifully craved and the place had two
durbar halls (ceremonial meeting halls of the royal court).
All the students read the story related to the palace mentioned at every
doorstep. New learning was being obtained and historical truths were
being perceived. We left from the palace after 2 hours of wonderful visit
and returned back to our lodgings.
Everyone had lunch served at the hotel and then a slot of one hour was
provided for the shopping purpose to all. Students got scattered and
purchased sarees, jewellery, and other popular stuff from Mysore for the
self, family and friends.
Our next site was yet another most interesting part of our visit and after a
fruitful shopping everyone rushed for the beautiful Brindavan Garden of
Mysore at around 4:30pm
2. Brindavan Garden, Mysore
The Brindavan Garden, a celebrated beauty spot, primarily a terrace
garden is world famous located immediately behind the Krishna raja sagar
dam site. Our childhood memories of visiting Brindavan Gardens had
etched an image of experiencing the most beautiful garden we had ever
seen. We reached there at around 6pm and students scattered into
different clusters for experiencing new joy.
As we visited this place at late evening, therefore the night beauty amazed
us with all the lightings and lamps. The night fountain show had its own
charm where most of the mob was identified. Cleanliness of the garden
was maintained at the utmost high level and its beauty was spread as a
fragrance all over. Flowers, boating rides, streets of the garden was adding
an extra charm to it.
Everyone spent their quality time and we gathered again at the same place
from where we left at 9:30 pm. After the fantastic moments with the folks,
we moved ahead to our hotel rooms and had lovely supper for the last
night. Students planned their night fun with their friends as we were
supposed to leave for our Pune destination on the next day.
The groups moved back to their respective rooms. Few fell for the sleep,
some went for the gossips and unlimited talks, a group was engaged into
games and music, some lied at the corridors making fun of each other
and this all moments became a memory to cherish forever.
*DAY 4 (24TH Feb ), Mysore City – Bangalore city*
The very next morning we got up and packaged our luggage, all set to go.
Everyone had the breakfast and headed for the next site visit on the way
towards the Bangalore. We left the place at 8am in the morning.
1. Chamundi temple, Mysore
Being one of the oldest Hindu traditional temples is one of the must-visit
attractions. The temple was located at the top of the hills and completely
crowed with the devotees. Everyone seek the blessings of the Goddess
Durga after waiting in along queue. After coming out, many of them
shopped for themselves which was really unique and is not found at all
the places of the country. Without wasting much time, we left from the
temple within two hours for our next site which took almost an hour to
reach.
2. St. Philomena's Church, Mysore
The most beautiful and distinctive landmark of the Mysore city is
recognized as the second largest church of Asia. The twin spire of the
church towering over the trees and houses grabbed the attention of
everyone and has the due reason for it. It is an interesting church indeed.
We reached the place at around 10 am and unexpectedly there was a
catholic wedding going on. We took the blessings and attended the
ceremony for 10-15 minutes and then we moved back to our bus after
capturing the snaps of the beautiful and spiritual place.
3. Sand Museum
An excellent example of creative brilliance, sand sculpture museum offers
a creative setting with artistic works. Intricate carvings on the sand,
delicateness of the sculptures and their unique themes make it a place
worth visiting. Sand sculpture Museum displays around 150 sculptures of
sand in 16 different themes, which have been placed over an area of
13500 sq. feet. These sand sculptures have been created using more than
115 truckloads of sand. Various interesting themes have been used at the
museum ranging from Mysore heritage, wildlife, and culture, instances
from different religious epics and fairy tales and stories.
Everyone was astonished to witness such as creative work architect
established on the huge lot of sands. We spent an hour visiting this place
and moved ahead for the next site visit which was the last site of our tour.
4. Srirangapatna Fort / Tipu's Fort
This was the last site seeing of our tour. We reached the Tipu’s Fort at
12pm approximately when the sun was shining bright in the sky and the
soil was burning hot. A heritage destination which was once the capital of
Tipu Sultan, Srirangapatna town, has many historical places that are worth
exploring and admiring. There were good markings and indications on
the walls telling about the history and formation of the fort. The place is a
wonderful, chaotic but peaceful, community: working, playing, worshiping
and living. Not giving much time to this place was the biggest error. After
visiting this place, we could witness the true facts of the true leader. The
interior and architecture of the fort was beautifully carved and there were
some remains of the things used by the Tipu Sultan. It was a nice visit free
from dust and surrounded with the trees.
TIPU’S SAMADHI
At the end we moved towards the Samadhi of Tipu Sultan. This place was
like a Dargaah surrounded with the garden. We landed at the afternoon
and after spending some time we accumulated at the garden where the
lunch was being arranged for us. Everyone sat at the shade and had a
delicious home-made lunch as we were about to end the trip. Everyone
got freshen up and headed for the station.
For the last time, we were enjoying the bus journey and everyone rocked
the floor of the bus with their moves and shakes. The colorful lights
added an extra enthusiasm among the mindset of the students.
We reached the Bangalore station for boarding the train and got into it at
9:30 pm. All the tired bodies took a relaxed sleep in the night journey and
next day on 25th Feb 2019 at 4pm we were back to our pavilion.
Thus making MEMORIES OUR TRAVEL BAGS, we left for our
respective destinations………..
