Pronto Solutions Alliance Inc.
(PSA) helps business clients
reach and exceed their potential
through implementation
of Enterprise Resource Planning
software. We are the leading
North American reseller of
award winning Pronto Xi ERP
Business Software.
Improving warehouse operational efficiency,
accuracy and safety within a streamlined
solution may sound unbelievable, but PSA
delivers with an integrated Pronto Xi ERP
Software solution, PSA Voice Enabled
Warehouse.
PSA integrates Pronto Xi ERP software with
Honeywell’s Vocollect VoiceLink to create a
voice-enabled, hands-free warehouse
environment. Through the use of technology,
inventory requests are translated from data to
voice for operators to action, and on the
reverse as each instruction is completed,
operator voice confirmation is translated to
data and seamlessly updated in Pronto Xi’s
Warehouse Management module database.
PSA Voice Enabled Warehouse supports the
following inventory requests and movements:
Benefits
PSA Voice Enabled Warehouse provides the
following benefits to Pronto Xi Software
customers looking to improve their warehouse
operations:
• Improved warehouse efficiency and accuracy
• Safer work environment through elimination
of user focus on handheld devices
• Easy to use - reduces training time for
warehouse operators
• Reduced costs – no paper, less equipment
• Improved warehouse reporting.
• Improved ergonomics for material handlers
• Multi-language support
• Quick ROI
Translating to Voice
The process of translating item descriptions to
voice is a precise process that involves ensuring
that instructions are comprehensible and clear
to the material handler. Explicit entry of
acronyms and terminology is required for
interpretation in plain language to eliminate
guesswork for the operator. For example, units
of measure (UOM) acronyms such as EA, FT or
PKG would need to be entered into VoiceLink
as each, feet and package respectively. In
addition, other rules are applied for special
industry terms, symbols (e.g. & or #) and
product or supplier acronyms (e.g. IBM vs I-B-
M) for clarity in vocalization to the worker.
The input of data from VoiceLink also
continuously improves. Vocollect uses
Adaptive Speech Recognition that improves
data input with user frequency. The more a
worker uses the system, the better the

translation.
VoiceLink Commands
VoiceLink maintains a glossary of commands for communication of reciprocal directions
between the system and the worker. These commands use simple, easy-to-learn
terminology for easy familiarization and memorization. For example, some of these
terms include: ready, skip aisle, sign off and say again to repeat an instruction.
Use of Pronto Xi Alert Intelligence with VoiceLink
When information is received from VoiceLink, there is no screen, like in RF, to show
warnings and messages informing users that Pronto Xi has taken a particular action or
cannot perform a particular action.
Therefore, all information received from VoiceLink must be validated before it can be
committed to the core database. Notification of anomalies takes place through alerts that
are typically defined by warehouse. These alerts include email distribution lists that notify
parties of actions to be taken.
Picking, Cycle Counts, Receipts, Put-away and Material Moves all have associated alert
intelligence events to warn inventory handlers of anything out of the ordinary.
For example:
• A delivery docket print has not occurred because a picking assignment is
incomplete.
• An over or under receipt of inventory has occurred.
• There is insufficient available stock to put away or move to another location.
In each of these cases, an Alert would be triggered for correction of the situation.
Supported Inventory Workflows
PSA Voice Enabled Warehouse interfaces between Pronto Xi and VoiceLink emulating
Warehouse Management Module RF scanning processes. The key difference between
Voice and RF is the elimination of screen interactions. Voice Enabled Warehouse allows
operators to manipulate inventory data without Pronto Xi user intervention – instead

VoiceLink completes these update tasks through translation of verbal commands collected
from the operator.
Picking Sales Orders & Transfers
Order picking is the most common task for use with PSA Voice Enabled Warehouse. Sales
Orders and Transfer orders are exported to VoiceLink via the Pronto Xi Warehouse Order
Processing Management function.
In the process, the VoiceLink operator is treated like the RF user ID. Their account is logged
on all transactional information such as stock movements, order audit and warehouse
transactions.
Pick Irregularities - VoiceLink sends Pronto Xi the same reason codes that RF uses to
account for variations in the pick.
1 – Lost 2 – Not Picked 3 – Over Supply 4 – Variance
Pick Inquiry - The pick assignment from VoiceLink is shown in an inquiry, each row showing
what has been sent to VoiceLink as well as what has been picked in VoiceLink. The inquiry
shows:
• export date
• export time
• warehouse
• assignment number
• order number
• order status description
• line sequence number
• item code
• quantity to pick
• unit of measure
• lot number
• pick location
• pick status
• actual pick quantity
• actual pick location
• resource/operator
• short ship Reason
• picked date time
• delivery docket printer
• delivery docket print
date time
From the inquiry screen, modes show additional information about the order, the item
code and pick information received from VoiceLink.

Cycle Counts (Stock take)
PSA Voice Enabled Warehouse has the ability to assign pre-configured cycle counting tasks
to operators. Cycle counts are released to VoiceLink via function INV M012 – Stock take
Control Code Maintenance.
VoiceLink will log stock movements, warehouse transactions and general ledger
transactions, for any variances by operator.
Inquiry of cycle count is available from INV M012 or from menu as a separate module and
function.
Receipts of Purchase Orders, Transfers and Customer Returns
Purchase orders and sales order transfers may be received into inventory using VoiceLink.
In the case of Transfers, these may be received from both enabled and non-VoiceLink
enabled warehouses.
Cycle counts are released from Pronto Xi interface to
VoiceLink via function INV M012.
Stock freeze information is broken up by VoiceLink warehouse.
VoiceLink sends expected items and items counts to
operator.
Operator completes physical count and confirms values via VoiceLink for a given inventory control code.
VoiceLink returns counts and count completion notification to Pronto Xi for a given inventory control code.

From these screens, users are able to select specific orders for release. Once complete, all
tagged orders are passed to VoiceLink by selecting ‘VoiceLink Release’.
Removing Previously Selected Orders - Users may also remove previously selected orders
for processing by VoiceLink using the respective order removal screens. This is done in
conjunction with removing orders from VoiceLink manually.
Receipt Inquiry - Receipt inquiry displays each line exported to VoiceLink with information
about what has been received and what has been put-away. The inquiry shows full details
including:
• updated date time
• order number
• order status
• line sequence number
• assignment status
• general ledger batch
• item code
• receipt unit of measure
• default put-away
location
• actual receipt location
• expected receipt
quantity
• actual receipt quantity
• receipt exception
• receipt date time
• put-away status
• put-away unit of

In addition, screen modes show information about the order, the item, put-away of the
item and detailed information sent to VoiceLink.
Put-away Received Inventory
Inventory put away may be performed during purchase order / sales order transfer receipt
or through a separate process in VoiceLink.
Similar to the other workflows, Pronto Xi sends VoiceLink information about inventory
awaiting put away. Error handling within Pronto Xi will not allow a voice operator to put
away more inventory than has been received. When the put away task is physically
complete, the put away tasks within the system will be completed with core Pronto Xi ERP
software functions.
Putaway Inquiry – Inquiry shows items put-away using VoiceLink in addition to core
inquiries. The inquiry can be for all voice enabled warehouses or just one.
