• Is constrained by anticipated transportation funding
Our Plan Update will…

Macro Trends: Manufacturing
“Social Media” Social media is creating a
Products on Demand customer base enabled by
3D Technologies.
“Internet of Things (IoT)” Increase automation and
job opportunities. A renewed focus on STEM
is cultivating a manufacturing workforce
focused on R&D.
"Next-Shoring” The rise of a more technical labor
force to manage supply chain operations, rising wages, shipping costs and the need to accelerate
time to market is driving production closer to customer
base. “Greater capital
investment” Though the slow economic
has hindered expansion, industry reports show an
uptick in capital investment funding.
“'SMAC Stack’ Adoption.” A manufacturing comeback is being driven by SMAC —
social, mobile, analytics and cloud.

Discussion
1. What do you see as the community’s unique value proposition or competitive advantages?
2. Based on your observations and experiences, what industries/companies have been expanding/contracting?
3. What demands are you hearing from your regional businesses? How do those demands vary by type?
4. What niche sectors do you see emerging?
5. Initial projects identified include the Route 56 Widening/Curve Elimination and Route 219 Connections. How long have those projects been priorities and what or how have any conditions changed since they were originally identified?
