FORCE180/200 BRIDGE STAGE 2 - DEVICE CONFIGURATION

The bridge requires one Force180/200 unit to be configured as Access Point (Master) and second as Subscriber Module (Slave) – which is default out of the box

configuration and no additional configuration is required to establish the bridge. So the entire configuration will be made on Master unit side.

1. Select the unit that will act as a Master on the link and login into it from the browser: http://192.168.0.2 user admin, password admin

2. In Configuration, Radio general section select mode of operation to Access Point and driver mode to TDD PTP. Then click Save button (button with

diskette) and after configuration is applied click Reboot button.

3. After reboot (approx. 2 minutes) unit will come up as Access Point (our Master) with default IP address 192.168.0.1. Please login to

http://192.168.0.1 user admin password admin and in Configuration Radio section setup the following parameters:

a. Range unit = km

b. Max range (cannot be less than the real range of the link)

c. SSID (will be visible for slave unit)

d. Scan channel bandwidth: 20MHz for up to 100Mbps operation, 40MHz for up to 200Mbps operation. Reboot might be required when

scan channel bandwidth is changed.

e. Transmitter output power +14dBm (the unit will only transmit allowed amount = max 30dBm EIRP)

f. Subscriber Module Target receive level = -40dBm

g. Downlink/Uplink ratio = Flexible

Please save the settings by clinking on Save button.

FORCE180/200 BRIDGE d. Paste it into License Key field under Tools, License Management section and click Save button followed by Reboot button.

Your link is now ready to operate. For the very short distances (below 2km) you can relax Transmitter output power (downlink RSSI) and Subscriber

Module Target Receive Level (uplink RSSI) settings so the RSSI level is around -50dBm on each side of the link – this can be monitored in Monitor Wireless

section, RSSI downlink/uplink

You can still customise the IP, SNMP and security settings your way but you should be given basic connectivity at this point.

You can test your link at Tools, Wireless Link Test section for 10 or 20 seconds. This is UDP peak throughput test.
