Conclusion
Forest Fire Plan Of Action Municipality Of Agia Paraskevi
Α) The largest part of the area of interest is
visible from the existing fire lookout stations and
is situated in protected zones (Democritus,
military camp).
Only specific areas are not visible.
The construction of another fire lookout station
in the northwestern side would provide almost
full visibility.
Β) The construction of a weather station or the
use of an existing one (inside Democritus) would
help fulfill the plan of action. In the “risk of a
forest fire occurring” map we would have the
weather factor being counted as well.
Γ) A cooperation is required with the
neighbouring municipalities around Imittos, so
as to create a complete GIS.
