Forest in the bottle~Let’s create own forest~

Requirement• Small plants (3 ~ more species)• Scoop• Big glass bottle• Gravel• Powdered charcoal• Stocking• Soil• Sand• Funnel• Decoration (Ex: driftwood, stone, leaf)

Collect small plants by scoop.Collect plants with roots and soil

Insert gravel 2.5cm from bottom of bottle

Then, insert powdered charcoal 1cm

This charcoal filter to clean up water!

Cut the stocking and cover powdered charcoal

• Insert dirty water from top of the bottle

• Cleaned water will come from bottom of the bottle

Mix charcoal powder, sand, and soil and insert on the top for 1cm

Decide where to put plantsand make hole.

Then put water a bit,and plant own plants.

Put small forest beside windowto get sunlight

What we learn from this activity?• Water flow in the forest inside of the bottle,

same as in nature.• Plants get water from roots and evaporate from leaf.

• Evaporated water reach to the bottle cap and become drip.

• Once drip drop from top of the bottle, it will be called rain in the nature.

Conclusion

• Your forest is alive now.

• You can see process of nature

on the desk now.

• You can create many kinds of forest,

by using different kinds of plants.
