Lie down in the forest for a new perspective of your surroundings.
This is a relaxing course high up on a mountain. There is a park at the summit, where Lord Otomo had his mountain castle. The views here are spectacular. There are many shrines and temples in the Kawarauchi district, as well as many famous ancient trees. There is also Itsuhashira Jinja Shrine, where the rite known as Fukayamaryu Iyotoko Kagura is performed. Its performance has been continued since the Meiji Era, and is designated by Oita City as an important intangible folk culture asset.

The boulders of Sekihoden are an amazing site where you can feel the power of nature.
This solemn course in the woods evokes ancient memories. The quiet grove of trees surrounding Hongu Shrine is protected by a forest preservation ordinance of Oita City.
