All Baumalight tree spades are designed with a very short frame reducing the need for stabilizers and counter-weight by 15 to 20 hp in tractor or skid steer size. Sizing can be difficult to determine because any given spade will handle a much larger tree that what will survive. Soil conditions and the amount of water available for the tree in the first two years are just as important as the spade size. Sizes given on brochures are good if trees are watered generously. If special care is given you can increase the tree size by 1/3. If no care is planned you should decrease the size by 1/3.
