AS A CHURCH WE HAVE A HISTORY OF RAISING UP YOUNG LEADERS. 75% OF THE CURRENT LEADERSHIP TEAM AT ST THOMAS CROOKES ARE ‘HOME GROWN’.

Many Form students have used the studies gained in this intern year to develop careers in various spheres of life. Form has also proved to be an excellent foundation for those considering ordination in the church. Students are given the opportunity to lead and develop their skills, discover their unique gifting and be released to pursue their passions and dreams. Continuing in this long tradition, we are developing our training year to further ensure direct access to ministries and key leaders within the church.

We want to place our trainees in the heart of the church by connecting them with key ministry areas. This September, we will offer internships in these four areas.

One day a week will be dedicated to work alongside our leaders in these mission areas. You will have an opportunity to see the inner working of our teams and pioneer new areas of ministry. They will become a part of ministry leadership teams and learn what it takes to see break through and sustain growth.

MENTORING

The world needs Christian leaders in all sections of society. As a trainee you will be assigned a mentor. You will be accompanied through the year by someone ahead of you on your chosen path. To prepare you for a potential workplace you will be matched up with a mentor from that field: health, education, social work, law, retail, service industry, business, church leaders, ministry leaders and more.

Our teaching streams are designed to stretch you. Our speakers will not only deliver great teaching but train, equip and enable you to live your life more effectively as a disciple in the 21st century. Are you ready to meet God, be challenged and to see change?

YOUR WEEK

On Sundays you will serve on one of our teams at either the 11am or 7pm gathering getting involved in welcome, worship, hospitality, children, youth, prayer, or media. One of the gatherings on Sunday will be your opportunity to meet with God free from responsibility. The rest of the week is yours to volunteer or work in the local community to live out what you are learning and to help pay your way.

OUR INTERNSHIP TRAINING RUNS FROM SEPTEMBER TO JUNE EACH YEAR AND IS A 3 DAY-PER-WEEK PROGRAMME TUESDAY-THURSDAY.

OVERSEAS MISSION

A key part of the year is our overseas mission trip. We have links with mission teams operating around the world in some of the poorest communities. Each year the interns raise funds and go and serve alongside these teams.

In previous years we have served in Ghana, Romania,

Uganda, Vietnam, Switzerland and Northern Ireland.

DR. ALAN WARD FORM TEAM LEADER Alan has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, studied Theology at St John's Nottingham and is currently training part time for Baptist Ministry. He has been part of the church for a long time and has worked in many areas of ministry.

THE TEAM

JAMES NORRIS - Form Assistant leader James did a Mathematics Masters degree in Sheffield and has previously been in student cluster and cell leadership. After doing Form himself, he now leads alongside Alan and is part of the School of Theology team.

REV. CANON MICK WOODHEAD - Team Rector Mick is the team leader at St Thomas Crookes. Over the past 10 years the church has grown significantly. 65% of the church is 18-30 years old. Mick speaks widely on church growth and leadership development.

REV. NICK HAIGH Nick is a Mission Priest, leads our Community Church and oversees all things mission. He joined the team after leading ‘The Net’, a pioneering new church in Huddersfield.

BOB & MARY HOPKINS Bob and Mary are the founders of ACPI (Anglican Church Planting Initiatives). They are significant national and international speakers on church planting and mission-shaped church.

GUEST SPEAKERS On Tuesday afternoons, once a month, we will invite key leaders from Churches, pioneering ministries and the workplace to share their stories and what God is laying on their hearts.

FORM FEES ARE £950 FOR THE YEAR (OR £95/MONTH FOR 10 MONTHS).

The fees include retreats, teaching, notes, meals and refreshments at form and transport. The overseas mission trip is an additional cost but trainees will fundraise together to cover costs.
