Aim of this PresentationThis presentation was created to show my action plan for student teaching when it comes to models of supervision as well as how I plan to utilize reflection practices / tools in order to be successful.  I will explain some of the concepts and theories of reflection and how these can be used to challenge my beliefs and assumptions about learning.

Situated learning model of supervision

The situated learning model of supervision is the idea that when we start student teaching we are a beginner, and through collaboration, interactions, and engaging we can become or get close to becoming an expert or master. The collaboration between student teachers and the cooperating teachers will enable you as a student teacher to get the most out of your placement.

Situated learning model of supervision continued..

Situated Learning is broken down into 3 main characteristics; “Legitimate Peripheral Participation”, “Community of Practice”, and Knowledge needs to be presented in authentic contexts. The situated learning model is focused on how “Learning is becoming”.

Reflection

I believe that it is very important to reflect on my Teaching experiences as much as possible. Using reflection enables me to get the most out of my lessons. For example the process of looking back on what worked for me as well as what went wrong during a lesson helps me plan future lessons.
