Parents Newsletter - issue 74 Autumn Term 1 2016 FOSH Family BBQ We held our annual welcome back BBQ on 17 September. Although the weather was not great the rain did stay away and we had lots of families join us; we had around 80 people which is amazing! A big thank you to Ross (Mel’s husband) who stepped in at the last minute and manned the BBQ expertly! A great afternoon was had by all. Harvest Festival Another great Harvest Festival where we were joined by family, friends and Year 6 from Holy Trinity School who sang ’For the Harvest’ beautifully. The classes performed an array of old and new Harvest songs with brilliant enthusiasm finishing with the Harvest Samba which contributed to an enriched morning of collaborative music, singing and enjoyment by everyone. A big ’’thank you’ to pupils and staff for all their hard work and energy!

FOSH Family BBQ We held our annual welcome back BBQ on 17 September. Although the weather was not great the rain did stay away and we had lots of families join us; we had around 80 people which is amazing! A big thank you to Ross (Mel’s husband) who stepped in at the last minute and manned the BBQ expertly! A great afternoon was had by all.

Harvest Festival Another great Harvest Festival where we were joined by family, friends and Year 6 from Holy Trinity School who sang ’For the Harvest’ beautifully. MacMillan Coffee MorningCedar and Mulberry Class were invited to a local coffee morning to support Macmillan at Holy Trinity Church on Friday 7 October.Christie ordered her cake and drink using her grid pad and told them her cake was ‘Yummy’.

We all had a lovely morning meeting the vicar and tasting all the delicious cakes.

Functional English CourseThursdays 9.15am – 11.45am 19 January 2017 to 18 May 2017.

A letter has been sent to all parents and carers across the Eden Academy offering a Functional English course funded by LB Harrow, who provide the tutor, and will be held at Alexandra School between January and May 2017. If you require a further copy of the letter please contact the school office.

Residential NewsIt’s been a lovely first term back in Residence. We have welcomed back Klara from her maternity leave and Shirley, who retired last year but is now back with us as a member of the Bank team.

We have started off the term with trips to the sensory theatre and lots of messy art.

We celebrated Eid by doing lots of art and craft.We also had some stories on Rosh HashanahWe have enjoyed the last of the sunny weather by having lots of walks and trips outside.
