Psalm 127:1-5 Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep. 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. 5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

➲ Who is building your house?➲ Are you laboring in vain to build

something that won't stand up in time of storm?

home will fall apart

➲ Some marriages are a FAILURE even if they stay together

➲ Think about Ahab and Jezebel➲ 1 Kings 16:31-32 31 And it came to pass,

as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal and worshiped him. 32 Then he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

➲ Matthew 6:32-33 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

➲ We are NOT like the rest of the world➲ We seek God FIRST➲ ABOVE all other things

FOCUS ON HEAVEN

➲ Personal life – work, social, recreation➲ Marriage – spouse, family➲ Children – education, sports,

recreation, entertainment, music➲ Spiritual life – Will I attend worship

today? What would keep me from the assembly of God's people?

➲ Every decision, every choice, for self or family – must be – WILL THIS GET ME TO HEAVEN?

FOCUS ON HEAVEN

➲ Joseph kept his focus straight➲ Genesis 39:9 There is no one

greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?"

➲Will this get me closer to Jesus, God and heaven?

➲Or will I be farther away?
