Foundations of Spiritual Formation Grace Chapel Wilmington – Adult Discipleship Course
Fall 2011
Course Description: This 10-week course is the first Adult Discipleship class offered at the Wilmington campus of Grace Chapel. It is open to all adults who have a desire to deepen their understanding of what Jesus invites us to as "his disciples." Following him for a lifetime is a great adventure, and this course promises to chart a course for understanding his exciting designs for your life. From a roadmap for knowing him intimately, to an apprenticeship-guide for working with him, "Spiritual Formation" will help sharpen your tools for being Jesus' disciple. Weekly Preparation: Required preparation will be minimal – that’s right, NO HOMEWORK. Just show up with willing hearts and open minds as we seek to deepen our faith and understanding. We will lean heavily on material from Greg Ogden’s study guide entitled “Discipleship Essentials: A Guide to Building Your Life in Christ”, but no need to purchase the book. We will not adhere strictly to the book, but will follow its basic outline. At the beginning of each weekly session we will provide you with a 1-2 page study guide with relevant material, questions, and suggested resources for further study. All you need to bring is yourselves, your bible, and a pen or notebook if you’d like to take notes. Contacts:
