ThingLogix has developed a way to quickly and reliably bring enterprise-grade IoT solutions to market, not just once, but on a sustainable basis, with full-lifecycle management as a standard feature. We call it Foundry.

Foundry is an IoT solution development andmanagement platform optimized for rapid time-to-market, ease-of-use, limitless scalability and extensibility, and reliable, secure, sustainable operations over time. With its platform-as-a-service (PaaS) architecture and its tight integration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure and services, it is a 100% serverless, cloud-based solution. Organizations using Foundry experience the full benefits of the AWS cloud – infinite scalability, simple and modular extensibility, high availability, high performance, security, and cost efficiency – while also accessing a dynamic platform purpose-built for the unique requirements of creating and managing IoT solutions.

Bridge the worlds of customer data and machine data for your smart, connected solution, powered by ThingLogix Foundry.

The Foundry Package for Salesforce.com allows you to utilize your CRM data directly within the context of your event-driven, market-facing IoT solution. Drive actions in a connected device’s physical environment. Anticipate, offer, and deliver personalized outcomes for your customers using smart, connected devices and apps. Capture data at the device or within the app and enrich customer profiles within Salesforce. Build a virtuous cycle of continuously improving CX and customer satisfaction by synchronizing Foundry and your Salesforce instance. Define and enable new revenue and cost efficiency opportunities based on the 2-way linkage of data in your Salesforce instance with device data -- both device-specific metadata and device-generated data.

Salesforce is a leading provider of enterprise software, delivered through the cloud, with a focus on customer relationship management, or CRM. We introduced our first CRM solution in 2000, and we have since expanded our service offerings into new areas and industries with new editions, features and platform capabilities. Our core mission is to empower our customers to connect with their customers in entirely new ways through cloud, mobile, social, Internet of Things (“IoT”) and artificial intelligence technologies.

How It Works

The Foundry Package for Salesforce.com (FP-SFDC) allows you to utilize data from your Salesforce instance in your smart device solution logic, so that devices registering events trigger workflows in Salesforce. It provides a simple way to normalize data contained in Salesforce and utilize it to trigger activity in a physical device environment. It works in concert with Foundry, the cloud-based solution development and management platform (PaaS) from ThingLogix. FP-SFDC links your deployed devices to your Salesforce instance, enriching your Salesforce data with real-time or near real-time event data, while also creating a one-way or two-way “action / reaction” capability. This means both that devices can trigger actions in Salesforce, and that activity in Salesforce can instruct devices to take actions in their respective physical environments. Start by enabling FP-SFDC, which then connects to your Salesforce instance using OAuth. Next, specify the level of access toSalesforce that you want FP-SFDC to have. You can set the level that is appropriate for your business, technology, and compliance needs, so that you aren’t exposing all of your data in Salesforce to FP-SFDC if doing so is not advisable. Then, define the types of events that are relevant in the particular business context that you are instrumenting with smart, connected technology. The steps required to configure FP-SFDC are simple, intuitive, and quick to perform. You can configure the solution without writing Apex or other code. When a smart, connected device registers the occurrence of an event, FP-SFDC generates an alert and sends a corresponding signal to your Salesforce instance, instructing it to perform a pre-specified action (e.g., trigger a workflow, make a decision).Similarly, when a specific type of pre-defined event occurs in your Salesforce instance, FP-SFDC generates an alert and sends a corresponding signal to one or more of the smart, connected devices in your deployed device ecosystem. The signal instructs the devices to take a pre-specified type of action in their physical environment. The 2-way sync capability of FP-SFDC ensures that it and your Salesforce instance communicate seamlessly with each other in either or both directions, depending on your needs. A simple example illustrates the capabilities of this solution: Your business has decided to utilize an AWS IoT button (a programmable button based on the Amazon Dash Button hardware) to enable actions in your Salesforce instance. Install the button and configure FP-SFDC with just a few clicks. FP-SFDC collects data from the button and creates a button object within FP-SFDC. That button object is associated with data inside your Salesforce instance. If you subsequently change settings in Salesforce, FP-SFDC orchestrates the associated functionality on the button.
