Incremental or absolute length measurement Four-row linear recirculating ball bearing and guideway assemblies with integral electronic-magnetic measuring system Four-row linear recirculating ball bearing and guideway assemblies KUVE with an integral electronic-magnetic measuring system are ready-to-fit units. They comprise a carriage KWVE with a modified housing containing an integral measuring head and guideway TKVD with a longitudinal slot. A SIKO dimensional scale is fixed by adhesive in this slot. The dimensional scale is well protected against dust, contamination and wear by means of a covering strip. The system for absolute digital length measurement (LMSD) is supplied with an electronic evaluation system. In the system for incremental length measurement (LMST), this is already integrated in the measuring head. Since the system is integrated fully in the guidance system, it requires no additional space. As a result, the design of the adjacent construction can be made more compact. The measuring system is used for measuring the travel distance and gives direct measurement of the distance moved by magnetic sensing (either incremental or absolute measurement is possible). It operates without pitch-related or measurement errors. A single-track dimensional scale with a pole pitch of 5 mm is applied to the magnetic strip. Length measuring system with multiple reference point – KUVE..LMST + MPLength measuring system, absolute, digital – KUVE..LMSDThe magnetic strip with a periodic index (every 5 mm) applies for the measuring systems LMST + MP and LMSD (Figure 4).
