DataNet: Mesh Network

DataNet: Short Range Repeater (SRR)

• New mode for DNL910 and DNL920:Short Range Repeater (SRR), no need for H/W change,F/W: 40, S/W: 1.1 or later

• Data loggers can operate now as ZigBee repeaters for short range (SRR), reducing network costs and increasing network robustness

• Data loggers in SRR mode must be connected to AC at all times, as with all DNR900 units

• SRR units can connect to 24 data loggers and 16 Repeaters (Repeaters can be DNR900, DNL920 & DNL910 in SRR mode)

ZigBee wireless protocol: 2.4GHz license-free frequency RF Band

• DataNet units can also serve as transmission repeaters to neighboring units. Creating a reliable mesh network of up to 65,000 nodes.

Key ZigBee features include:• Reliable transmission, ensuring no data loss

• Transmission range can be constantly expanded by adding nodes

• Minimal costs due to wire-free infrastructure

• Portable units facilitating easy deployment in various environments

DataNetInternal Temperature

During Charging

DataNet – Internal Temperature Sensor

While charging the DataNet units

(DNL910 & DNL920), battery charging

increases the internal temperature of the

loggers.

As a result the internal temperature sensor can

measure up to 14° Celsius more then the actual

outside temperature

DataNet – Charging Procedure

All units are connected to the AC and batteries are charged fully for 16 hours.

After that period the units will be charged for 1 minute daily.

Maintaining fully charged batteries, without any effect on internal sensors.

DataNetCalibration

DataNet – Calibration

• All sensor inputs of the DataNet logger units are calibrated following manufacture

• A calibration certificate is added to each unit’s box

• External inputs calibrated include:– 0-20 mA– PT-100– TC/J, TC/K, TC/K– 0-1 V, 0-50 mV

DataNet – On-site Calibration

• The Factory Calibration (FC) is stored in the DataNet logger and at the Fourier Facilities

• DataNet loggers can also be calibrated on-site

• Calibration is done via DataNet S/W and parameters are sent by wireless transmission from the PC to the loggers

• Calibration parameters may be saved on the local PC and then reloaded into the logger

DataNet – On-site Calibration (cont.)

• DataNet logger units can be manually calibrated by right-clicking the Logger icon on the Map View

• Before performing logger calibration, the unit must be in a Stop mode

• DataNet employs two different calibration methods: Two points calibration and Offset calibration

Offset +2.4°C `

Offset -1.6°C

Offset -3.8°C

DataNet – Calibration Menu Options

The Calibration menu options are:

• Calibration:Opens the main Calibration dialog box

• Save Calibration:Saves the logger’s current calibration settings

• Load Calibration:Loads a previously saved calibration settings

• Reset Calibration:Resets the logger’s calibration settings so that the raw hardware data is obtained, without any software calibration applied to these values

• Restore Factory Calibration Default:Restores the logger’s calibration settings to the factory calibration i.e. the calibration settings it received prior to shipment from Fourier

DataNet – Calibration

FCCL

• Each DataNet logger keeps both: Factory Calibration Parameters (FC) Actual Calibration Parameters (CL)

• Each FC is saved as file at the Fourier facility

• Once out of the Fourier factory CL = FC

• Clients can re-calibrate the loggers’ sensor inputs, making new CL

• The CL file can be saved on and loaded from the local PC

• By doing Reset Calibration the CL = Nil

• If Reset calibration is done in the specific Sensor calibration menu it will clear only the specific sensor’s calibration parameters
