Volunteers and/or donations would be greatly appreciated and go a long way in promoting the success of the pregnancy center. Volunteers are needed to work on the following committees: Invitation, food service, enter-tainment, decorating, and set-up. Baby Bottle Campaign LAST WEEKEND
Sponsored by OLPS Youth Group Baby bottles will be available at all entrances of the Church throughout the month of January for donations to be made to support the DesOrmeaux Foundation, a local organization dedicated to defending human life at all stages of development, born and unborn. The campaign will end Sunday, January 28.
Centennial Indulgence – an indulgence granted by Pope Francis can be gained throughout this Centennial Year by all who visit the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist and pray the Centennial Prayer (with the usual conditions
for an indulgence). Please see the Diocesan Webpage for more information. The Centennial Prayer will be in the Cathedral beginning January 11th or you may print it from the webpage (available in various languages on webpage).
The Disch-DeClouet Social Service Center has provided assistance
in the month of November 2017 as follows:
• Food: 297 families
• Clothing: 98 families
• Milk fund: 30 families received 172 gallons of milk
• Prayer & Counseling: 343 persons
• Dentist/doctor/medicine: 6 persons
• $1,261 in housing assistance to 32 families
• $10,584 in utility assistance to 320 families
• $418 in other financial assistance including diapers, food, bus tickets,
burial assistance, I.D.'s, etc.
In the month of November 2017, 1,077 persons in 376 families were helped in some way at the Disch-DeClouet Social Service Center..
