COME ON BOARD WITH OUR CATHOLIC SCHOOL
This week we celebrate “Catholic Schools Week.” I want to begin by saying thank you to our entire parish community for "coming on board" in support of our St. Paul Parish School. Over the past 51 years --- lay teachers and principals have been so committed, parents have sacrificed to send their children to the school, people of the parish have paid for the building of the school, many have shared their resources to help cover part of the cost of the Catholic education of someone else's children, and the students and graduates have taken pride in this Catholic institution. So much has gone into this great apostolate, along with the help of God.
It is still an incredible struggle for any parish to maintain a viable school as part of its mission. With the costs of education continu-ing to climb both in the private and public sectors it is a true blessing when a faith community like ours can support this challenging but worthwhile apostolate. Tuition monies from parents of school children and special money-raising projects cover over 60% of the cost of our St. Paul School program. The other part of the cost comes through the support of the rest of our faith community. I am a very strong believer that it continues to be the responsibility of ALL of our parishioners (the single, the retired, the married with children and those married without chil-dren or with grown children) to share in the support of the Catholic education apostolate relating to "our" children. The early Catholic settlers to this area over 150 years ago always felt that the care and development of the children was a shared responsi-bility by all the members of the community. The community on a whole left a legacy --- the faith formation and education of the children, regardless of which individual family the children belonged to. That dynamic also needs to be present in this moment of history --- relating to our school and our religious education apostolates.
Our Catholic school can more holistically, explicitly and freely integrate the development of faith in the context of the curriculum and activities of the children than a public school is permitted to do. Although faith formation is primarily the responsibility of the individual family, the Catholic school can supplement that for-mation in great measure by providing daily religious instruction, liturgies, prayer, sacramental preparation and prayer services, besides continual education in Christian values and ideals. Our own particular school has a reputation for its holistic approach to education. Besides the nurturing of their faith and basic learning skills, children receive instruction in music, art, physical and computer education. Other cultural and community outreach ac-tivities further enhance the student's life. Communication with and the participation of parents is a focus played out in a number of different ways by our school.
Our school has truly become an instrument that directly and indirectly impacts and enriches our entire parish community and its life. In turn I am very proud of how beautifully our entire faith community has met the challenge of supporting this apostolate.
Let's keep it going. Don't be ashamed or afraid to promote our St.
Paul Parish School. Fr. Ralph
Ensure that your child continues to be enriched in faith while learning their ABCs.

Open House Sunday,
January 31, 11am - 1pm
All are Welcome!
Greetings St. Paul Parish,
I have met some of you already, but I wanted to take the opportuni-ty to introduce myself as your new Business Manager. In just a short time, I have so enjoyed working with your Parish. It’s truly amazing to see how many wonderful people here make all the behind the scenes work!
My Husband Ed and our two Daughters Jordan and Jessica live in Waukesha. We are members of St. William Parish. Currently, I teach Christian Formation and I am active in a number of committees there. Recently during teaching my 3rd grade class, we discussed the topic of Vocation. We learned about how listening to the Holy Spirt for direction in where one should use their gifts is so important. Amazingly, this is exactly how I believe I was given the opportunity to work for you- St. Paul Parish.
I am looking forward to the future here and ask that you do keep me in your prayers. Please know that you are in mine as well. I will be here on February 20th for the 5pm Mass and also on Donut Sunday the 21st. I’d love to meet you! Otherwise, feel free to stop by the Parish office or give me a call anytime.
Blessings to you, Sherri Meyer

Adult Ministry
The Men of Christ Conference 2016 is on March 12.
“More than anything else our country needs strong families led by fathers who are faithful, courageous and holy. But no man can live a life of sacrifice and courage as an island—he needs support from other faithful men who share his same ideals. This is what Men of Christ is all about, men helping men toward an encounter with Christ so they can be the fathers that God created us men to be.” –Father Eric Nielsen
Men of the Parish and high school students, this day will make an impact on your life. Join others from St. Paul’s to attend this amazing day. It will be a great day for men to go to confession, attend a mass with the Bishop presiding, and here some fantas-tic motivational speaking.
Contact Tim Weske tweske@delzer. com or Mary Kral with questions. More info on Men of Christ website menofchrist.net.
Lenten Collection
Envelopes will be provided in the pews beginning February 28 for our parish Lenten collection. This year our focus will be on our Peru ministry and on the Easter Food Drive.
PERU: Money collected for Peru will be used to purchase medications, vitamins, and miscellaneous medical supplies and toothbrushes and reading glasses for distribution to the people of St. Clare School community in Paita, Peru, when our parish provides a Medical Clinic in May 2016. Medications will be left behind to provide maintenance for those who have been seen by a doctor. We will also provide additional in-home water purification systems (on our last trip to Peru, 40 systems were installed). Please see the parish website to learn about previous mission trips.
EASTER FOOD DRIVE: Money collected during Lent will also be used to purchase perishables for Easter meals for families in need who have been identified in the local area. In the past we have had a Thanksgiving Food Drive, we are moving that collection to Easter as a way to serve our local community and to celebrate the Resurrection! Loaves & Fishes will be collecting non-perishables for the Easter Food Drive on the SECOND Sunday of March instead of on Palm Sunday.
During last year's Lenten collection, over $4000 was collected to help the poor. We thank you for your generosity. Let's make this the "best Lent ever."
Middle School Edition March 6, 2016 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

2016 Lent Take 5 - For “The Best Lent Ever” Parishioners of St. Bruno AND St. Paul
DAILY
Rediscover Jesus—Read Rediscover Jesus by Matthew Kelly and par-ticipate in the community conversation. See the weekly question in the bulletin or on the website and in pulpit announcement and re-turn a brief response to [email protected] which will be posted on the website and in the bulletin.
A gift from your parish for Lent
Parishioners at St. Bruno and St. Paul are invited to take home one copy per family of "Rediscover Jesus" by Matthew Kelly before Lent begins. Books will be available in the Gathering Place/Gathering Space outside of church the weekends of January 30/31 and February 6/7.
It is our goal to create a "community conversation" by sharing answers each week to one predetermined question related to the readings. Individual responses will be emailed to the parish and posted on the website/in the bulletin allowing the entire parish to view others' responses. As a parish, we can share this 40-day spiritual journey together as we "Rediscover Jesus."
The book has 40 short chapters for daily meditation from Ash Wednesday through Holy Saturday, excluding the Sundays of Lent. Each meditation includes a question to consider. The weekly “community” questions were selected to elicit answers that are more generic in nature, nothing private or confidential.
Parishioners are invited to subscribe to a Lenten email from Dynamic Catholic. The link is http://dynamiccatholic.com/bestlentever/#parishresources
As Matthew Kelly says, let's make this the "Best Lent Ever." Please see the other opportunities that are being offered during Lent as well as the email address for responses to the question of the week. Join our "community conversation."
