FoxVigi offers a different approach to existing solutions by using standard (often already installed) cameras to estimate the number of users. The waiting time is calculated on the basis of certain measurements to provide accurate data: Estimate of the number of people waiting in the queue. Measure the flow of people leaving the area. Detection of the number of opened counters/desks. The system estimates the number of people in the queue, it is not therefore subject to drift in time which may accu- mulate and give inaccurate indications of the waiting time. Therefore, it does not need to be reset manually. Waiting times may also be measured at different points. In order to satisfy customers' requirements as well as possible, the solution developed by Foxstream does not impact the users, such as scannable tickets or any other mechanical solutions. FoxVigi is completely self-running and does not require any human interven- tion or resetting. The solution also manages the use of passes whilst providing complete reliability. FoxVigi: the advantages

The current competitor solutions, which are mainly based on counting algorithms, require cameras to be posi-tioned above the queue and counting fields to be defined along the queue, to guarantee accurate results. These requirements have several disadvantages:

Accuracy of the estimate of the number of people waiting: + / - 5 people (regardless the length of the queue).

Accuracy of the calcu-lation of the average waiting time: + / -1 minute..

Self-Running solution.

No drift in time, the estimate is always reliable.

Concrete example from Lyon Airport

At Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport, waiting times are dis-played on the Security control gate and/or the Police control gate.

The graph opposite shows a set of comparative mea-surements made by the Lyon airport authority.

In addition to the counting and the crowd management solution provided by FoxVigi, the on-board solution Fox’n Go provides the automation of the indication of counters/desks that are open and available to handle the next person in the queue.This improved visibility ensures greater comfort, both for visitors who no longer have to ask where they have to go to be received and for employees manning free

counters who now have a luminous sign and/or audible indication which alerts the customers and which is controlled automatically by the Fox’n Go application.

Thus, time is saved and confort is improved which ensures a better quality of service and contributes to maintaining a pleasant, calm atmosphere in the waiting area.

CONVENTIONAL COMPETITORS SOFTWARE FOxVIgI SOLUTION

Accuracy: depends directly on the positioning of the cameras.

Azimuthal position: it is not always possible to parameterise optimal viewing angle due to cables, spot lamps, fire-fighting equipment.

Adaptable to the environment, no constraint as to placement (the entire queue must be visible to the cameras).
