La fotografía tiene un rol muy importante en el proceso de recibir información acerca del mundo. Somos bombardeados constantemente con todo tipo de fotografías y diferentes contextos. Las decisiones que tomamos sobre donde nos vamos de viaje o donde queremos ir, hasta que consumimos respecto a marcas, productos, servicios, personajes y hasta políticos son basadas mayormente en imágenes fotográficas. De igual manera que somos consumidores, somos productores de fotografías a través de nuestros dispositivos móviles y nuestras redes sociales.
