But this is exactly what they did. The family documented the trip in the film Mission To Lars . In an attempt to reconnect with Tom, his olde r siste r Kate , a journ alist from Londo n, decided she would take her brother to meet his rock star hero. “One thing he always said is he wanted was to meet Lars Ulrich from Metallica,” Kate said. “One day, I just said ‘OK let’s do it’, partly to shut him up, and partly because I thought, ‘if that was Will asking me I would think, oh, he really wanted to meet this person’.” The youngest of the siblings, Will is a film- ma ke r so the pair deci ded to make a documentary about their journey. Kate said since the movie’s release in June 2012 there has been a lot of positive talk about people with disabilities. “People relate to Tom and they really like him,” Kate said. “We just wanted people to just see through the label to the man.
