Shadows and darkness connote mystery and the idea of secrecy - a key convention of this genre as it makes the audience question the things that are hidden.
Text is distorted, ripped, burnt; to influence the
tone of hidden identity or mystery in the
introduction - also establishes the common tone held in many horror
films.
Same visual letters for continuity purposes and
makes the audience wonder of the significance of some symbols or letters, as in the
letter 'o'.Clearly establishing darktones within the introduction. Dramaticas it makes the audiencecuriosity arise.
Progression of almost a raging type of atmosphere kicks in towards the end which is done by fire, broken
glass, and photo's of younger children being burnt. This raises questions to the audience as to who they
are and why this is.
