• Term of Office: March 4, 1933-April 12, 1945

• FDR committed the United States to the defeat of the fascist powers of Germany, Japan, and Italy, and led the nation and

its allies to the brink of victory.

• FDR admired his 5th cousin Theodore Roosevelt.

• He was the only American President who was able to be elected more than two terms.• He served Four terms.

• Franklin married his cousin, Eleanor Roosevelt.

• Roosevelt led the United States through two of the greatest crises of

the 20th century: the Great Depression and World War II!

• Suffering from poliomyelitis, FDR was almost totally paralyzed and he

was never again to recover full use of

his legs
