Trustee’s Corner

Please note the new hours for the kitchen. We have hired a new cook. His name is Matt so stop by and

say hello. Also note that tacos on Sunday are now $2 each. The new menu will go into effect March 1st.

If you have any suggestions please drop it in the kitchen box in the hallway. A big thank you to all of

our volunteers who helped make New Year’s Eve, Darcelle and Mafia night big successes. Also note we

are starting a movie night where movies will be played on Fridays or Saturdays. Grab some dinner and

then enjoy a movie with a little popcorn.

Worthy President Brothers and sisters.

I have many items and could write a book – but I will keep my letter to a few items.

I am very concerned about all of the negativity at the lodge. The Eagles social areas needs to be a place for fun for

ALL. The proper ways to discuss your displeasure or unhappiness is to go to a trustee/general meeting or write a

letter or note to the president or the appropriate party. PLEASE do this and encourage others to do this. Let’s show

a place of happiness and FUN.

I personally want to thank all volunteers for their work at the lodge. It makes no difference how smalln or large it

is appreciated.

I know there has been some complaints about not getting the newsletter in the mail. I am working on a solution and

would like to hear from anyone who would like to comment or discuss this item.

I would greatly appreciate any and all comments on what we can do to help this lodge. You can ask me or write

me. I am keeping a list and will try to address any and all items. What can the Eagles do for you or what can we do

better. Remember think positive and it will always make your day better.

My heart is very heavy as I write this letter. As most of you know by now that Jeff Blythe passed away on January

3rd. He was one of the closest friends I have ever had and I’ll miss him a lot. Thank you to all those who attended

the celebration of life for him and showing his family how much you cared. Please remember to continue support-

ing the lodge and bring in new members. Any donations for a new roof will be appreciated (any amount from

$1.00 to $1,000’s of dollars). I am pleased to announce that we now have a new Worthy President, Jim Morgan

and a new Worthy Vice President, Jack LaBox. We also have a new Chaplain, Julie Knudson. Please continue to

February – Heart Fund Charity - 2018

Once again it is time to turn our thoughts to the charity of the month –

the Heart Fund. Again this year we will be raffling off some very nice

items in the show case, which have been donated by businesses in our

community, and many by individuals. And don’t forget the Valentine

tradition – the doll. Again, we will be selling raffle tickets on a doll,

which has been tradition for many years. So get ready to buy those tickets. We appreciate the generosity of all of

you. If you are unable to come down to the lodge to participate in the raffles, or other “fun” fundraising events

throughout the month, but would like to contribute to the Heart Fund charity, you may do so by sending items for

the raffle held during each meeting, as well as the showcase. If you have lost a loved one or a special friend this

past year and would like to make a contribution in their memory, you may do so by sending a check made payable

to the Eagles Auxiliary, noting on the memo line that it is being sent in memory of your special person. The fund-

raising committee has donated many dollars to the Salem Hospital cardiac unit, and we will be sending them a do-

nation again this year. If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at (h)503-585-2760 (cell) 503-551-

3378..

A big “Thank You” to all who have participated in our raffles, by buying raffle tickets, making cash donations and

by donating items for our raffles. It all happens because of you.
