FRED FILM RADIO at the Venice International Film Critics' Week FRED FILM RADIO, the multi-language, multi-channel radio station focusing on independent cinema and film festivals, starting from this edition is a media partner of the Venice International Film Critics' Week. FRED will broadcast all over the world from the 69th Venice Film Festival (29 August – 8 September), with a programme schedule spanning 6 channels and providing a special coverage to the films in the Venice International Critics’ Week. During the 11 days of Festival, FRED will provide extensive coverage of all the main events in this edition of the Critics' Week, the independent section of the festival showcasing exclusively first works. All the films in this section (7 in competition, plus two special events) will be covered by FRED from a temporary studio at the Venice Lido, with programmes in different formats and languages. A year after its birth, FRED continues in its mission to allow all those who cannot be at film festivals to share in the experience as if they were, and to offer more in-depth information and targeted entertainment to those actually there. FRED Film Radio is an entertaining blend of contemporary music and film content targeted at all those who love cinema, who gravitate around film festivals (directors, actors, journalists, festival organizers, film school students, audience) and who work in the cinema industry (producers, distributors, buyers, sales agents etc.) Thanks to studio broadcasts and live programmes from the main film festivals, FRED is a useful guide to cinema events both for the audiences and the cinema insiders. But anyone, by listening to FRED, can get a feel of the festival atmosphere and find out more about the premières, their production and distribution, the response of audiences and critics, the actors and the facts concerning them.

In order to promote intercultural dialogue and boost independent cinema, FRED is interested, in particular, in those films that, unfortunately, can be seen only at film festivals and are the real interesting feature of film festivals since they enable audiences to approach different and lesser known cultures. FRED currently airs on 6 channels (English, Italian German, Spanish, Polish and a news and feature channel), but following its natural multicultural vocation, FRED's range of contents will progressively increase with the online streaming of programmes in other languages sharing the same schedule as far as music and contents are concerned. You can listen online to FRED on our website FRED.FM or through our iPhone and Android Apps.
