• Keep original labels on all containers or put
labels on known chemicals.
• Package all materials securely to avoid spills.
• Place old containers in plastic bags or buckets
to avoid leaks.
• Place smaller containers in a box or larger
container to help with unloading.
• Transport chemicals in your vehicle’s boot or
trailer for easy and safe handling.
• For you safety please stay in the car and let staff
unload chemicals.
• Please note that no containers or boxes will
be returned as we do not empty these on-site.

This service is free to all South Australian
households and is supported by the Cities of
Marion, Holdfast Bay and West Torrens. You
don’t need to live in these councils to access
this service.
This service is only for household hazardous
waste (except paint). Householders and trade
painters can bring up to 100 litres of paint to
the event.
The event will be held from 9am until 3pm on
Saturday 2 December at the City of Marion
City Services depot at 935 Marion Road,
Mitchell Park. Please refer to the map below

Motor Oil
Oil is a valuable resource that can be recycled. Used motor oil can be brought to the following facilities free of charge:
• Up to 10 litres can be disposed of at City of Holdfast Bay Works Depot 16 Seaforth Avenue, Somerton Park.
• Up to 40 litres can be disposed of at Adelaide Waste and Recycling Centre, 181 Morphett Road, North Plympton.
Bring your oil in a clean, plastic container with a lid.
The original container is perfect.
E-waste
All e-waste can now be recycled free at: • Electronic Recycling Australia,
149 Holbrooks Road, Underdale. Weekdays 9am – 3pmfor your nearest “Unplug N’ Drop” site visit: electronicrecyclingaustralia.com.au/unplug-n-drop
Paint
Householders and trade painters can dispose of up to 100
litres of paint per visit. Paintback will accept paint stowed in secured containers, no larger than 20 litres.
Dry paint is perfectly safe to dispose of in your waste bin – simply tap the hardened tablet of paint out of the tin and place in the waste bin. Empty, dry paint tins can be recycled in the yellow-lidded recycling bin.

Most batteries can be recycled and accepted in domestic quantities at:

Light globes
A wide range of globes, bulbs, lights and fluorescent tubes can now be recycled.
Drop off your end-of–life globes or tubes at any Mitre 10, Banner or True Value hardware store
The City of Marion also provides a drop-off service for old fluorescent globes at 935 Marion Rd Mitchell Park, Weekdays 8.00am - 3.00pm. Residents can bring up to six globes.
Residential quantities only, commercial quantities will not be accepted.
Gas bottles
Gas bottles can be disposed of at:
• Daws Road Recycling Centre,
76 Daws Road, Edwardstown
• Mooringe Avenue Recyclers, 116 Mooringe Avenue,
North Plympton
