Project: Free open source software(FOSS)

College: A.K.P

The free/open source software movement began in the "hacker" culture of U.S. computer science

laboratories (Stanford, Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, and MIT) in the 1960's and 1970's. There is a

great interest in open source software. Many large suppliers (IBM, HP, Sun, etc) use free and open

source software in their own products and solutions and also contribute with their own

resources in the various projects.

The father of

“FOSS”

is steven levy

founder of the Free Software Foundation and the GNU Project. Profiled in Steven Levy's 1984 book, Hackers: the Heroes of the Computer Revolution as the Last True Hacker, he started the Free Software movement in the 1980s and is considered by many to be the father of Free Software/Open Source.Jan 6, 2003

What is “FOSS”

Open source software is software whose source code is

available for modification or enhancement by anyone.

"Source code" is the part of software that most

computer users don't ever see; it's the code computer

programmers can use to change how a piece of software

works

Basic principle of “FOSS”

The free open source software is freely available on the computer and smart phones through the internet. It consists of computer used for displaying the particular software on the screen of CRT or led or LCD depending upon computer and the smart phone is also used for displaying the software.

When the computer or smart phone are connected to the internet for download the free software. The web browser are used the searching the particular software using internet i.e. type the software name using websites and download the software with some procedures

When the download is complete and install that the software with proper procedures. When the install is completed. The software is ready to use after few days It asks “please upgrade your software” either “your trial package is expired please buy in online” your software work with proper way and update your software for increasing performance of your software otherwise uninstall your software.
