Construction: This project uses precise 1/4” seams. To test yourseam allowance, accurately cut (2) 1-1/2” x 3” rectangles. Stitch them together along the 3” length.At the midpoint, measure across the unit. It should be exactly 2-1/2” wide. If not, adjust your seam allowance and repeat.

1. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the (24) 2-7/8" squares of Wave Dark Red. Place each of these Red squares right sides together with a same size Green or Black square. There will be(12) of each. Stitch an accurate 1/4" on both sides of the drawn line. Cut on the drawn line. Press them toward the Red. There will be (24) of each of theunits, measuring 2-1/2" square from raw edge to rawedge.

2. Stitch the Step 1 triangle squares in a pinwheelusing 2 of each color combination, asshown. Notice the two blacks are onthe bottom. Make 12. They measure4-1/2” square from raw edge to rawedge.

3. Attach a 1-1/2” x 4-1/2” Greenalong the left edge, and then a 1-1/2” x 5-1/2” Green across thetop of all 12 blocks. Press.

4. Sew a 1-1/2” x 5-1/2” Blackto the right side and then a 1-1/2” x 6-1/2” Black across thelower edge. Press. They arenow 6-1/2” square.

5. Diagonally stitch a 2-1/2”Red square acrossthe Green cornerand the Black corner.Trim the excess andpress toward the corners. Make 12.

6. As before, add 1-1/2” x 6-1/2”Green to the left, then a 1-1/2” x 7-1/2” Green across thetop. Add a 1-1/2” x 7-1/2” Blackalong the right side and finally a 1-1/2” x 8-1/2” Black across thelower edge. Make 12. Theymeasure 8-1/2” square from rawedge to raw edge.

7. As in Step 5, diagonally stitch2-1/2” squares or Red across theGreen corners and BlackCorners. Trim and press. Make 12.

8. Lay out and assemble your quilt using the 12blocks from Step 7 plus the 12 Rose squares cutfrom the panels. Press.

9.. Add the 2-1/2” strips of Red to the sides, andthen the top and bottom for the inner border.

10. Attach the Rose Stripe Borders. Begin and endat the 1/4” seam allowance at each corner, andleave a 10” miter ‘tail’ extending.

11. Place a corner to miter on your ironing board,with the border that is lying horizontal extending to the right, and the one that is verticalon top of it and extending up. Foldthe top extendingborder diagonallyunder and positionso it is exactly on topof the one extendingto the right. When satisfied it is correct,smash it with theiron.

12. Use a pin or two to hold the mitered corner inplace. From the underside, stitch in the pressedcrease. Check tosee that it’s correctand if it is, trim theexcess from theseam to 1/4”. Pressthese seams open.Repeat Steps 11-12for each of the corners to bemitered.

13. Layer your quilt and prepare to quilt your mas-terpiece. You might like to detail the images.

14. Bind with the 2-1/2 Lace Tonal strips, followingthe instructions with the Binding Miter Tool. Thereis also a video demo of this terrific tool atwww.YouTube.com
