12” × 3685Y, 12” × 3646L and8” × 3630C.1 yard orange jumbo Ric-Rac.

Bear12” x 3624L, 12” × 3690W and8” × 3650PSmall scrap pink wool felt.

All Bags14” Iron on Pellon (Vilene H630).Fusible web.COSMO embroidery floss in black 600,white 2500 & optional pink 506.3” x 3” black wool felt.

1/4” seam allowance included.-Magnify your templates to 200%before use. Please use the 1" legend toensure that your templates are to scale.

-Fold your piece of main bag fabric in half,right sides together. Trace your chosenanimal's main bag template once onto foldedfabric and cut out on the traced line.

-Take your piece of iron on pellon(Vilene H630) and fold in half. Trace themain bag template once onto the foldedpellon and cut out on the traced line. Iron pellon to the wrong side of your mainbag pieces.

-Take a piece of your face fabricmeasuring 8 1/2” × 9 1/2” and iron fusibleweb of the same size to the back ofthis. Trace your face template ontothe wrong side and cut out on thetraced line. Peel paper from yourfusible web, position and iron the faceonto the bag front.

-Take a piece of your muzzle fabric measuring 5” × 7" and iron fusible web of the same size to the back ofthis. Trace your muzzle template(and stripes for tiger bag) onto thewrong side and cut out on thetraced line. Peel the paper,position the muzzle and iron intoplace.

-Take a piece of black wool feltmeasuring 3” × 3” and iron fusibleweb to the wrong side of this.Trace your nose template once andeye template twice onto the wrongside and cut out on the tracedlines. Peel paper from your fusibleweb and iron the nose and eyesinto place.

-FOR BEAR: Take a small piece ofpink wool felt and iron fusible webto the wrong side of this. Tracethe flower onto the wrong side andcut out on the traced line. Peelpaper from your fusible web and iron the flower into place.

´-Machine or hand applique yourface, muzzle, (stripes for tiger,flower for bear), nose and eyesonto your main bag front.

-Mark the mouth, freckles,whiskers for lion/tiger and eyebrows for lion onto the bagfront using a pigma pen or pencil.

-Using 4 strands of your blackCOSMO embroidery floss, backstitchall marked lines and create thefreckles with French knots(alternatively you can use dark pinkfor the mouth). Using 6 strands ofwhite COSMO embroidery flosscreate a pupil in each eye with a triple wrap French knot.

-Take a piece of your ear fabricmeasuring 8” × 8” and iron pellonmeasuring 8” × 4" to the back ofhalf of this. Fold in half, right sidestogether. Trace your ear templatetwice onto the folded fabric andcut out on the traced lines (giving2 pieces with pellon and 2 without).

-Take a small piece of your inner earfabric and iron fusible web to thewrong side of this. Trace the innerear template twice onto the paperside of your fusible web and cutout on the traced lines. Iron theinner ears onto your ear frontpieces (with pellon). Machine orhand applique the inner ears intoposition on the ear pieces.

-Place your ear front and backpieces on top of each other, rightsides together. Sew the earstogether leaving the edge open forturning as indicated on the patternsheet. Turn and press.

-FOR LION: Take your bag frontand place it right side up. Positionthe ears onto the main bag, rightsides together, approx 1/2” downfrom the top edge. The raw edges of the ears should meet the raw side edges of the main bag. Tack in place.

-FOR LION: Position your jumboric-rac from under one ear to underthe other. Approx 2/3 should belying over the bag fabric and 1/3 willbe lying outside the bag. Ensurethat you angle the ric-rac outunder the ears so that the endscan be trimmed later and will notget caught in your sewing. Tackinto place. Take another length ofyour ric-rac and repeat for the topedge of your bag front.
