1. From each of the 21 Vintage prints, cut: 7—5"×5" squares for a total of 147 squares

2. From Vanilla solid, cut: 69—5"×5" squares

1. Lay out all the squares in the spirit of the assembly diagram on the right. Don’t try to replicate the exact layout shown, rather lay out the fabrics in your own order to create a dark to light fade from top to bottom. Note that it’s not an exact fade.

2. Sew squares in rows, numbering each row to keep it in order. We recommend pressing all seams open for a flat, crisp look.

3. Sew rows together, carefully matching points at seams.

1. Layer pieced top, batting and backing.

2. Baste, then quilt. We quilted a gentle wave pattern with a light tan thread.
