Welcome to the 2014 Fremantle Street Arts Festival.
This year’s festival is set to impress more than 100,000 people over the weekend with a number of spectacular performances from around the world.
Some of the highlights include Dutch troop, Saurus, who will invade the port city with their 10 metre dragons, scattering the crowds as they prowl the streets.
In addition, the city’s architectural and cultural landmark, the Fremantle Arts Centre, will host a series of very special Australian premiere performances by talented artists such as Belgian company, Studio Eclipse, and Claire Decuxe from France.
The State Government, through Tourism Western Australia, is a proud sponsor of the Fremantle Street Arts Festival.
The festival not only adds significant vibrancy to Fremantle, but it also provides a massive boost to the local economy and showcases the unique tourism assets of this historical port city.
With its laid back atmosphere, iconic architecture and rich history, Fremantle is the perfect location for Australia’s largest and most eclectic street festival.
Liza Harvey MLA Minister For Tourism
Wow! Another fantastic line up for the Fremantle Street Arts Festival. This festival transforms Fremantle into a city of dazzling delights with performances spread throughout our city and it has grown to encompass a broader range of street art. So what have we got this year?
We’ve got buskers from around the world displaying their talents on the streets of Fremantle. These performers travel the world performing on the street and live off the money we put into the hat at the end of the show.
We’ve got roving talent floating around, using Fremantle’s nooks and crannies as their stage. These acts seamlessly weave through laneways, along beaches and turn up inside some of our favourite venues. You never know when you might come across something a bit crazy.
We’ve got street theatre artists creating a performance piece specially designed for an outdoor venue. Make sure you arrive early to get a good spot to watch these shows.
And finally, we have temporary installations popping up around our city.
I can’t wait for the festival to start, and I look forward to you joining me as we soak up the atmosphere and run into something unexpected!

Close Act TheatrePresumed to be extinct, the biggest beasts that ever walked the earth will return to the 21st century. Roaring with hunger and charging through the crowds these dino-like creatures are playful and spontaneous, snapping at hands and sweeping their tails.
La Fausse CompagnieInspired by Shaun Tan’s The Arrival, the instruments of this world-wandering trio are the delightfully weird offspring of a marriage between strings and horns. Paired with beautiful voices, their music will charm and inspire you.
